Nothing humans do on a large scale is good for the environment. Some are better, some just change the location and type of the damage. In the case of most EV and cleaner energy related pollution it transfer environmental damage from the atmosphere to the earth, maybe a better choice in the long run.

Look at the data and you realize we aren’t doing that much damage. The entire green energy agenda is about control.

Any environmental arguments aside, I am enjoying driving my Rivian. It’s not like I bought it to be nice to the world since my last truck was the worst polluting production truck.

I would think (while a not a popular solution) that zero population growth until we are at more sustainable levels would be better. It is economical and less evasive. And nonviolent too.

    Less people, less resources needed.

There is a movement among farmers “No Farms No Food” mainly they are up in arms about AG land being developed. Ya know if you quit feeding them, there would be no need for cookie cutter housing developments.

For sure. If people would just stop pumping out tons of babies we’d be a lot better off.

I sure do like those Rivians, seeing more and more running around here. I am not against EVs, however don’t think we are doing the environment any favors.

Wish I could afford one, should be able to get one in a couple years for fairly cheap I imagine when they go belly up. :) I am rooting for them, like RJ much better than Musk, though when the legacy manufacturers go full scale, pretty sure they will be done.

Meh, if you pay taxes, follow the laws, rules etc…like it or not you are being controlled.

Oh goody I see the trolls have arrived. Mostly they post outdated or completely false BS that suits their political beliefs. (as a side note I wonder if the gun threads get anti 2A trolls?)

That’s a horrible comparison. There’s a difference between having laws for sustaining a civilized society and laws that control what the temperature of your home can be, how you heat your home, what you’re allowed to eat, how you’re allowed to move etc and that is where all of this is going. If you want to be a blind sheep and say “meh” go ahead and know it is because of people with your mentality that we will end up the same as the people who lived under Stalin in the 1930s. When the famines start becoming a reality in the developed world I’ll stop looking crazy and you’ll realize what’s going on.

Not a troll. Trying to give you a different perspective rather than what you normally hear. Maybe I’m wasting my time. Also, you’d be surprised by my political beliefs so don’t make assumptions.

EV's aren't perfect but oil burning will always be worse. No one is saying you have to buy an EV.

If I wanted EV fanboyism I be in the EV forums. Here on the rare occasion there will be a well thought out and reasoned counter discussion. Reposting the same old easily proven wrong anti EV BS like a "gotcha" moment is just trolling.

It is a perfect comparison. We are being controlled no matter what, we aren’t exactly “free” to do whatever we want. Sure I do agree with you, EVs or to a better extent CO2 emissions is just another way to control the populous. I mean…what perfect way to control and profit by taxing the air we breathe, under the assumption that We can control climate change, hate to break it to some people, the climate has always changed, if it hadn’t, we wouldn’t be here arguing about it. Just look at Mars, it stopped changing, now it is a wasteland.

Not sure how me saying we aren’t really free is making me communist. But whatevs… have fun storming the castle!

I tend to lean to Anarchy, tried forming a club once, had a hell of time trying to get people to come to the meetings… :p

No one is saying that we can control climate change but what humans are doing now is proven to be exasperating natural climate cycles in a negative way.

Scientists who study the history of earths climate by analyzing ice core samples in the Antarctic and carbon analysis say the trends/fluctuations we are seeing aren’t a fart in the wind.

But they are, there is a proposal of using moon dust to shield the earth from too much sunlight. Say if that is even plausible, what happens if it goes too far the other way that dives the planet into another severe ice age, or worse snowball Earth?

Oh for sure, we are definitely changing the natural cycle, unfortunate for us is the only way to stop mankind’s influence on the planet is for us to go extinct. No amount of engineering is going to change that.

Orrr…a philosophical look at it, since We humans are born of the Earth, isn’t what we do indeed natural? Not like we came from another planet to harvest the Earth’s resources, though we have begun to do that very thing with other interstellar bodies. Looking to mine the moon, Mars, asteroids etc.
