As @BoostedDSM starts the questions I also have a couple for the morning of the 24th. I will try and be to Des Moines and your camp site by 8:30. I will be getting to my camp late on the 23rd, like10-11 ish and I will do my best to get up by 5 ish and get going. Will need coffee, so need a half hour to get going and it shows 2 1/2 hours on Google. Does this work @Supr4Lo?

I was thinking of meeting @Taco-Grinder in Fond Du Lac sometime between 11 and Noon on the 23rd if that'd work for him. You're in the Milwaukee area right @BoostdDSM? We'll be taking hwy 151 out of WI. Maybe you could meet us along the highway somewhere near Madison? Also we'll be camping in Des Moines. I haven't reserved site's yet will you're friend be joining?

That'd be fine Pat. That's around the time I figured you'd be showing up. We'll have coffee made for you.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
    There's a Kwik Trip about a half block off 151 in Verona...CR PB...assuming you're continuing down 151.

OK, I'll get back to you on location and time.

@Taco-Grinder would meeting you in Fond Du Lac on the 23rd around 11ish work?

    Yes, sounds good
I live just off of 23 about 5 miles east of FDL. There is also a Park&Ride at 23 and UU. With the new highway not everything shows up on Google maps

I drive by there a few times a week. It would make a good place to meet. There's also a Kwik-Trip in Mt Horeb about 15 miles down the road. Same same.

As we get closer let's talk recovery gear. With the larger group we could consider splitting up who's bringing what to try and keep everyone's weight and total items packed down. This will also help make sure we're not missing anything. If you don't have any recover gear don't rush out and get any. Between everyone probably have more than enough, we don't need 8 snatch straps for instance.

Here's what I'm planning on bringing:
    Winch (in front bumper)
    20' snatch strap
    8' tree saver x2
    3 soft shackle
    2 hard shackles
    1 snatch Ring
    tire plug kit
    starting fluid (for rebeading tires)
    6mm - 24mm socket set
    35mm socket
    32mm socket
Other various wrenchs and hand tools
M18 3/8 drive mid torque impact

Also will be bringing 1 cv axle and 2 inner and outer tie rod ends.

I also have a 30' tow strap and High-Lift jack I could bring but hoping someone else can cover those.

Anyone plan on bring a drone for some overhead footage?

So I went and looked... I have two snatch blocks and some weird strap things for mud extractions... never used them, but I have them. 32 and 35 mm but no 1/2 inch breaker bar... okay. On the purchase list. Can't find the one I know I know I have.

    Fire Extinguisher
    Winch
    30' strap
Yank 'Em rope. I forget if it's 20' or 30'.
Two - 10 ft tree savers
    3 snatch rings
    4 soft shackles
    4 (5?) hard shackles
    Air compressor
Shovel - small and compact. Won't do much but is better than nothing.
Set of open/boxend ratchet wrenches-screw drivers, pliers, vice grips, etc.
    Air compressor
Four 4x4's and a 2x12 to get extra height for the jack.
Wool blanket. I spent a chilly night in the bush. We survived O.K., but a blanket would have been nice.
    No extra parts.

I also have a shackle hitch receiver if anybody wants to use it. I have never used it and no longer need it.

If you're both bringing a high-lift and bottle jacks I'm leaving mine at home. I need to try and keep my load light with my light rear leafs. I loose 3/4" inch with just my normal camping load out. I'll bring my slider adapter for the high-lift though

I would recommend everyone have those things as a minimum!

Look through everyone lists. No need to bring more then 1 snatch block, or tree saver, or more then 2 shackles (hard and or soft). I think between us we have more then we'll need. And every pound counts on a long cross country trip for milage.

What snatch rings did you go with? Really thinking about getting one or two for the weight savings.
