The front fenders/flares remind me of a Chevy.

    None, yet!
This is the very reason that I jumped on a 2023 OR 4x4 Premium....I'm not willing to bet anything on the next Taco generation. Much like I'm not willing to bet anything on Gen X, Z or Gen Infinity.

This thread makes me want to become a bookie; I'm betting I can make money betting against the extremist predictions from both sides of the aisle.
    • It'll be moose ass ugly vs. Aphrodite
    • It'll be horribly unreliable vs. RN38 reliable
    • It'll be slower than a 2G or 3G V6 model
    • Its ride will be too soft vs. too hard
    • It'll cost $70,000+ vs. a modest increase over the 3G
    I could probably go on.

Here are my predictions on engines/transmissions.

Toyota is going to go with their new "Dynamic Force" engines on all TNGA platforms, which includes the new Tacoma (TNGA-F). There are only two of the new engines that have the power necessary for a midsize truck. (Toyota isn't going to put a V-6 in the Tacoma unless they get into the "Dinosaur wars" with Ford and Ram.)

All 4x2s and lower trim level model 4x4s (USA only for 4x2): A25A-FKS engine ~200 hp/180 ft-lb, 6-speed auto only
    TRD models 4x4: T24A-FTS engine (turbo) ~265 hp/330 ft-lb, 6 or 8-speed auto
TRD Premiums, Pro, and LTD: T24A-FTS engine with added "Hybrid Max" to get gross ~360 hp/400 ft-lb, 6-speed auto

Maybe?: USA/Canada might see the A25A-FXS engine at ~180 hp/170 ft-lb offered as a hybrid. It's the same as the A25A-FKS, except it's "Atkinson all the time" which is why the peak power and torque are lower, but the hybrid might bring it up to ~240 hp total. I suspect the decision on whether to offer the "lower-end" as a hybrid is going to come down to whether either country offers incentives at the price point that Toyota can sell it for.

Low probability, but fingers crossed: The 4x4 Off-Road might be available with a manual paired to the non-hybrid 2.4L turbo...for us fossils. Toyota does own >50% of the company (Aisin) that makes the manuals for the Wrangler/Gladiator...so there's that.

What we need is for someone who works at the Huntsville, Alabama, plant (where these new engines are made, as well as the current Tacoma engines) to tell us when they stop building the current 2.7 (2TR-FE) and 3.5 L (2GR-FKS) versions....and start building the T24A. (They already build the ubiquitous A25A, and the V35A-FTS found in the Tundra)

The pro will not have a 6 spd auto . They will all have an 8 spd or 10 . It will be 2 transmissions. Auto and Manual. Not sure why everyone thinks toyota will ditch it when Ford, jeep still run a Manual
And the Hybrid isn't even made for better fuel consumption, it's made for power . So I don't see why there would be insensitive for then

It's toyota , when have they ever gone off the map wild? I'm going to laugh when it has a manual and all the manual Bros look dumb because they whined how it wouldn't have one lol
