I dont but probably should carry my .45 on walks. Just need to get my CCW permit signed by the sheriff. Only had one encounter with an offleash dog and thankfully it was the neighbors so it wasnt that big a deal. But still makes one think.

 

Yeah one of our neighbors has a big ol rottweiler they always keep in their driveway, unleashed but the gate is really low. He could easily jump it if he wanted to and whenever we walk by he goes crazy. Like not normal dog barking crazy but the kind where if he did jump the gate and came after us, he's getting shanked no question

 

Awe shit, sorry to hear. That's horrible.

My pit was attacked by an off leash dog when I was visiting my mom some 8-10 years back.

Here's the kicker, my dog defended itself and left the other dog bleeding behind the ear. Fucking neighbor had the audacity to call the cops (which I stuck around for) and days later pounding at my mom's door asking for me.

Apparently the dude expected me to pay for their vet bills which I happily responded with me threatening them. Never came by again but damn dude I hate people like that.

On the subject of, hope you guys don't ever have to deal with that with Dex.
