The factory AFR sensor in the service manual doesn't use a gasket but I feel like that's dumb and there was a gasket on the sensor when I pulled off.
I ordered an extra O2 sensor gasket that I plan to install with the new AFR sensor unless anyone knows better and wants to chime in

Nice tail lights. I have the same ones in smoked. Are yours clear? Did you have to rewire them to work with 01-04?

I figured out how to compress a timing belt tensioner without a bench vise. OTC front end kit came in handy again... and I used penny because the screw has a pointy tip and I didn't want to damage it.

That small section with the O² sensor is the only thing left of the original exhaust seems fitting that it would put up a fight

    This might help

    It's fairly simple

QUOTE="unstpible, post: 26759358, member: 84909"]How about those Anzo Taillights ah? In my opinion they are the better looking aftermarket taillight available for these trucks but they are not wired to work in the 2000-2004 Tacomas.:angrygirl:

They use the same size plug and have the same body shape so i figured it couldn't be too hard to figure it out and I wasn't the 1st person to make it work either

Pre 2000 Tacomas have 5 pins in the plug and the newer models have 6 pins, that extra pin is just a jumper wire for a ground

If you look closely in the picture below you can see the top left pin is a little darker because it came off an old set of taillights. This is the Jumper wire I'm adding and it clipped right into place like it was designed to

The other end of the Jumper wire needs to be spliced into the middle pin. I used a tiny flat head screw driver to press in the little barb on the pin and then it pulls right out of the plug.

It is important to note that the passenger side Jumper wire does not splice into this same spot.

Ask me how I know :anonymous:
Then ask @JKO1998 if you still don't believe me

On the passenger side Jumper wire you will still add the pin into the same spot (its the only unused slot available) you will splice the Jumper wire to the pin right next to it this time like so

Here's a pic of the passenger side stock Jumper wire that you are recreating

    (white wire with black stripe)

And a pic of the drivers side Jumper on the OEM light

I cut the white wire with black stripe to get it out of the way for a better picture of the green Jumper wire

Long story short make the Anzo plug look identical to the plug on the OEM 6pin plug

If your passenger side taillight works correctly while plugged into the drivers side, something is wrong.

I thought it would be more complicated and a local Audio video shop told me it couldn't be done, the owner even went as far as saying the wiring on my truck was incorrect and had no power running to it at all even though the OEM lights were working properly when I arrived at the shop. I'll never have them do work on my vehicle again

Same here. I replace the full exhaust line with a new upstream sensor and a block plate for the lower. Those nuts gave me hell. Had to use extractors

I found a SUPER mint condition leather 3rd gen 4runner steering wheel that I swapped into my 98 today! The steering wheel had the "3 wire" cruise control so that was plug and play but I did have to swap the clock spring from the 4runner as well because the airbag connector is different. Also the steering column cover from the 4R fit perfect as well so now everything is black.

Also the reason I did this is because the old steering wheel became "detached" from the metal frame so when you were holding it it would move/twist/jiggle and was annoyingIMG_6858.HEIC.jpg

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Recently did Solo Long Travel front.

Did a 5 day trip to King of the Hammers.

Took the truck on some pretty frosty test rips.

Wife said "Damn, what a difference the LT made, can't wait till the back matches"

Yes, fellas... I won the wife Lottery.
