My turbo profile camshafts have such a high lift, that coupled with the 1mm larger valves, the exhaust valve would hit the pistons, if the timing was to be too far out. @White lightning boosted , did you do the break-in period with the camshafts? Running the engine around 2500 rpms for around 20 minutes? What weight oil did you regularly use? The upgraded springs were installed as well, correct?

upgraded springs yes. oil had 2k on it before install. mobile 1 synthetic. changed 500 miles after running. had it revved for a bit but likely not 20 min.
after install things were noisy-er than normal but that went away in a couple weeks. bad noises happened later.

It’s been awhile since I did the FPR boost mod but to make sure I’m calling off the blower and running a vaccine line from the intake back to where I had been connected to the blower ( or where it was previously connected

do I need a certain size line? I thought I had the right size but the like I have is a bit smaller than what is connected on the boost side.

try 5/16" 3/8" at the larger estimate.

Okay I think I’m using 5/16 but seems like 3/8 is the other. If 5/16 works I’ll rally I just need it to drive and get a smog and back so 1 say. DMV gave me to hall passes to drive.

Dent in the wallet. Pretty sure that anti gravity battery is $800 or so. Significant weight loss in the pockets

Hey everyone! Just picked up a tacoma with a S/C! It's on its way from NC right now and I'm wondering if a TRD intake is going to do anything (actually) performance wise and also! Will it sound better with the TRD exhaust on the 2015 TRD Pro? Just got the intake put together. Truck should be here on Monday. So freaking excited! Check it out!

I got this truck off of a fellow member who is awesome! I'm coming from a 2013 TX Pro with a afe Pro dry intake and TRD exhaust. If anything. I can switch my current trucks intake with the TRD if it doesn't perform/sound as good :)

Can you point me in the direction of where you got that TRD battery cover? :D

You’re good to go with it. A lot of us are running it. If you mod heavy you can swap in the TR4 tube and MAF (with some tuning of course). I’m running it as you have in the photo right now.

Congrats on the new SC Truck! The newer TRD intake you have pictured isn't much of a gain, the panel filter is relatively small. The AFE Pro dry intake with a large cone filter in the airbox is a much better direction. And yes, with the AFE setup it makes is very noticeable difference in top end power delivery.

Great to know! I'll put it on (TRD) and run it on my drive up the coast to Seattle and swap them out and see the difference! this is fun! Lol

Hows the top end on it? I feel like my current truck lacks it on the highways and I have to down shift if I have any kind of gradient

It’s going to depend if it has larger tires is heavy. Even with the S/C I am regarded but super heavy and I get it still. Tires will make a big difference. If you’re running larger e rated that’s likely why. I had that big time before I reheated and then s/c.

Stock supercharger is a bit underwhelming. Add some smaller pullys, an upgraded fuel pump and that AFE intake and it will be a different animal. And yes, heavy tires kill performance. Try and stay away from heavy wheel/tire setups with heavy E-load tires if possible and look for lighter setups with C-load tires.

    I know SCS Ray 10 17s aren't the lightest but I have c rated ko2s in 275. Hopefully it'll feel okay
