It's Wisconsin, that'll change at least a half dozen times by then.

That's 100% true but I'm not yet sure that is a good thing. Now it says 2/16 will have 3 inches of snow and be colder. All I can say is it wouldn't be a Wisco Taco trip if it wasn't raining or snowing so at least it's on-brand.

I'm not getting excited or worried until a few days before the trip. Hopefully we'll get lucky! :)

Forecast keeps changing - some for the better, some for worse. Snow on 2/16 has been everything from 1 inch of rain to 8 inches of snow. Most recently it's back to 6 inches of snow. Friday night camping is still cold but not as cold as it was before. Sat/Sun looking good, but if it warms up too much after all that snow it could be an interesting combo of ice/snow/mud. Almost a 50°F swing from lows on Friday to highs on Sunday. Hooray for chaotic weather!

Edit: Link here if you want to watch for yourself.

This isn't helping me decide whether or not to camp. But, I think I'll put the platform in the 4runner tomorrow just in case. Maybe I'll order an electric blanket. :notsure:

Hey @Thatbassguy , what are the dates for the next sleepover? Wysl???? something or other. Thought I had that on my schedule but I do not seem to.

Edit: Never mind I went and looked (Like I tell my students to do constantly) and found that it is updated on page 1. Fantastic. Thanks!

    Glad I could help. :D

Edit: this reminded me to double check that the right dates were in the OP. I tried to clean it up a bit. I'll need to put up a poll for April pretty soon, to see if I need to reserve a room at Potosi.

Are you coming down to Wyalusing? Just a heads up; the T.W.A.T is basically a bunch of scenic, graded gravel roads down there. But, the camping on the Ridge is fantastic!

@Supr4Lo sorta guilted me so I have that weekend cleared. No worries about terrain, it is a part of the region I have not explored (and having just gotten back from Moab I will be looking for some calm driving experiences.) Trying to get my wife to come, but she doesn't have much interest in talking trucks, or interest in trucks or even Toyota's for that matter.

Ha, guilted you.... Ya it was so hard to get you to join lol. I really enjoyed this trip last year since I never spend time in that area either. Good scenery, good time, with good people!

I think you'll enjoy the area. It's one of my favorite areas to drive through. I genuinely enjoy even the paved roads. There are so many winding roads that follow the valleys formed by the feeder creeks that flow into the lower Wisconsin and Mississippi Rivers. It's truly a special place!

I'm looking forward to another great weekend out there. I hadn't explored the driftless area much at all until around 2017, and now it's one of my favorite places to go. I really need to get out there more than once a year!

When @Thatbassguy and I were BS'ing on Saturday and talking about the upcoming weekend, he mentioned maybe we should get a fish fry Friday night and I wholeheartedly agreed! I did some poking around and found a couple spots. This one stood out, and once I saw a pic of their perch fry I started drooling: https://repetessaloonandgrill.com/

    So...
    1. Who is planning to make it to BRF before or around dinner time? Say 6pm?
    2. What do you think of this spot?
    3. Would you like your Old Fashioned sweet or sour? (Wait, I took James' line!)

For breakfast Saturday morning, did we decide on ? What time should we plan to meet up?

At this point, it looks like I will have to work Friday. But, I'm hoping for a short day. If I am able to get up there by 6ish, I would definitely be in for a fish fry!

Also, this just reminded me that I never put up a poll and I meant to a few days ago.

I won't be able to leave until close to 5 and its 4 hours. Breakfast is fine anywhere you guys choose (just make sure I follow along); although, I am set up to cook-I will get up and make coffee for sure. Other early risers are welcome to come get some-bring a cup.

If I recall correctly, I don't have anyone else on my site yet, right? Please correct me if I'm wrong and missed someone asking to join me. Otherwise, @Pixeltim I have an electric site already booked if that helps to convince you to make the trip Friday. The forecast is getting warmer every day now too. The Google says the Friday low is now 18, up from something like 11.

I was planning on sharing a site with Pearing, but if I can't make Friday night, that one will be open, but thanks!
