That intake absolutely needs a recalibration of the MAF as it has a larger ID where the MAF is placed (relative to OEM). It’s pretty far off too.

Dumb question but does this "service filter" thing actually do anything? I push the button on top and nothing really happens? 

 

It looks like a visual vacuum indicator. When it is installed on the truck and the truck is RUNNING (probably at idle), it would create a vacuum that would pull that down. If it were sticking at all, that is how pressing down on it would reset it. I’m guessing there is a spring inside of it as well, which puts it back to zero making you think it isn’t doing anything.

And why would this matter? If the filter was dirty, it wouldn’t allow as much air through as a clean/new filter, so the vacuum of the engine gasping for air would be greater- indicating visually that you need to clean or replace the filter.

 

Gotcha. That makes sense I suppose I'm OCD so I'll be cleaning it frequently as it is lol

 

If it’s clean, nothing happens. When it’s dirty, the diaphgram goes down and tell you when to wash or change the filter. Pops up then if you press the button.

 

I've mentioned this a few times, but anyone with a SC definitely should add LT headers and URD y-pipe. My buttometer says there's at least a 15-20rwhp gain there.

 

Agreed. The URD Long-tubes (if still available) really are the best bolt on for these trucks in my opinion.

No reason it shouldn’t since the 1grfe only has vvt on the intake cams

 

Looking for a set of these for a 2015 if anyone has some laying around. Contacted URD and was told they do not have such a product.

 

Check to see if JBA still makes them.
