I'll never know why I keep waterboarding myself by participating in these threads but what part of history should supposedly inform us to the direction the "green movement" will take us in ?

Mining is such a horrible atrocity to the earth. It wouldn’t be so bad if they were not just maximizing profit, but actually using the best remediations in the process of extraction and processing.

But we all know the oil business is not any cleaner.

Not to mention it was also had military benefits, evacuating people from cities incase of an atom bomb, easier to move our own ICBMs around too. We can help humanity, and ironically can also destroy it many times over.

Damned if we do, Damned if we don’t. Mang! Saving the Planet is awfully expensive…and why is that? Why I think it really isn’t about the environment and more about keeping the wheels of consumerism grinding along.

Of course the planet has been through worse than humans.

Remember the 'green movement' for cleaner air, water, and environment is a conspiracy. Duh!

Green movement is older than I. Fact is it hasn't worked there's less green space, and more trash every where. Now if the opposite was true, there would be more green space, and you wouldn't see trash all over the place.

Was recently watching a documentary about how humans evolved from worshipping Earth and Sky gods to Christianity, which rose out of the Roman desire of conquering the World. The scholars suggested if We humans didn’t make the switch, we wouldn’t have the devastation that we have are experiencing now.

We went from worshipping the Earth, to trying to conquer and controlling it.

Unlike oil, its byproduct throughout an ICE vehicles life results in CO and Co2. EV's current carbon footprint, even with charging with fossil fuel generation is near zero, ends after about 3-4 years.

Pretty much, as we were lead to believe that recycling plastic was a good thing.

    from Greenpeace: https://www.greenpeace.org/usa/news...ing-declines-even-as-plastic-waste-increases/

You must of missed the part of where the act of mining does to the air, soil and water.

“Any type of resource extraction is harmful to the planet. This is because removing these raw materials can result in soil degradation, water shortages, biodiversity loss, damage to ecosystem functions and an increase in global warming.”

I saw that. Been happening with oil and fracking for near 100 years. Why should we continue that? You do realize Lithium EV batteries will be replaced eventually?

Exactly. The 'green energy' movement is now moving quick, no one said it's perfect and those polluting ways to make a cleaner environment are being replaced by non polluting ways. It's all still in it's infancy. Not liking it because it's all not just the way you like it NOW doesn't mean it won't change in the time to come. Fossil fuels are still the same and making people sick and dying.

My favorite part of talking about the cons of mining is that we’re still strip mining in America and removing mountaintops, which is all fine because coal is king because we’re told so.

Y’all (not necessarily @SwollenGoat ) are angry because you’re told to be angry and it shows.

America has been mining coal since 1701. It has literally changed the American landscape.
