Tacoma Vs. Rivian

Read my last post. Apparently unlike you actually do travel the US. It’s not my home area infrastructure I’m concerned with.

 

Infrastructure is being worked on. Not there yet. But the US doesn't have any power issues so far regarding EV's. Not enough in the US yet. Only like 2% of the cars are EV. Air conditioners are more of an infrastructure issue than EV's.

And again for the millionth time that it's been mentioned. no one if forcing anyone to buy an EV.

 

Take a look at California, gasoline vehicles are going to be banned then I believe 2035. So yeah it’s already started. They can’t even keep up with the electrical grid they have right now. What are they gonna do when they throw 15 million electric vehicle chargers into the infrastructure system.

 

Gas vehicles won't be banned in California in 2035.

 

New sales only, not a ban.

 

OK, you win I give up. That’s not what is already on the books…..ban on gasoline new car sales, 2035.

 

Last week I saw a Ram 3500 pulling a GT3 track car on a trailer. That Porsche is probably more fun than the Rivian, or a street version 911. The Rivian is impressive for an electric truck.

I have an 3.5 ecoboost, and I don't feel that I need the performance it offers when empty. I don't see what I'd need the power of an electric truck for. I'm sure I could have fun with an electric truck. Comparing the 3.5 to a Lightning I don't need a quicker truck.

 

And that will drive Californians who want to buy a new car to electric. It’s not rocket science.

 

You’re not wrong, it’s just a big difference between banning all gas cars and banning the sale of new gas cars. One implies an instant shift to 100% electric in a year, the other implies a more steady shift as people replace the gas cars they already own.

 

I definitely don’t need it, most of us in America don’t need a truck at all. It’s something we want to have and enjoy having as a luxury.

 

PHEV and HEV's aren't banned. They're gas also.

 

There are probably a lot of car people in California. They aren't going to be happy.

 

There are EVs for everyone. This seems like a perfect commuter.

Never stated they were going to ban all gas cars. But I did not specifically state NEW GASOLINE CAR SALES.


With that……I’m outta this one. Seems the topic is a bit skewed. No electric golf carts for this guy.

 

I saw this last weekend. Maybe it’s me but I don’t like the headlights - how they look.

 

Looks like you found the best way to approach it without seeing the headlights.

 

I’m not sure $2.5 million counts as “for everyone”.
