Seems like we are cutting our nose off to spite our face. Not seeing much foresight in the green movement. More like a panic to change things and we will figure it out when we get there. But will it be too late before we figure it out?

There are other ways to reduce the strain. Most are missing the “Reduce” part of “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” ideology.

Yep, I am a descendant from West Virginnie coal miners. My dad used to work at a strip mine. Have seen the devastation up close, not mention lived in AZ for 20 years, ever been to Green Valley or Morenci copper mines? We humans are capable of great engineering masterpieces, also quite capable of vast amounts of environmental destruction to make those possible.

Can you spot the massive dump trucks? They look like ants, you should see it person, that hole is so big it makes its own weather.

What is wrong with zero population growth until we are at a more sustainable level? We only have finite resources.

Or should we continue along the path we are on until the entire planet is leveled?

Uh how is zero population growth going to occur? It won't.

Pretty much the same as how the constant mining of resources and manufacturing of new consumer goods is going to stop the climate from changing.

    LOL!

Of course it is funny, because it is true! Range is awful when loaded, can’t really do any long haul road trips because of the erratic charging infrastructure, or lack there of.

An electric Ram, they can’t even get petroleum powered vehicles right with decades of practice. Electric Ram!? No thanks…

Yep, things have been improving though so who knows what it can do in 2024/25 when it’s finally released. The towing range loss is extremely overhyped in my opinion though. All of my ICE vehicles experience close to 50% range decreases when towing as well, it’s just a matter of physics. The difference is that they are quick to refuel anywhere as opposed to charging. It isn’t the range loss that matters, it’s the charge time and infrastructure.

The new infrastructure plan has allocated money for 500,000 ev chargers along major interstates by 2030.

Yeh they raised their prices too. Home charging is best or avoid EA chargers best they can.

Nice thing with ICE, you can carry extra Jerry cans or a transfer tank to extend range. I do, and so do most of friends traveling to moto events. Majority of the events are dispersed camping, so can’t recharge there. You can however carry plenty of fuel.

The routes I take often don’t have cell service, so good luck finding a charging station via data. Experienced that trying with finding the next gas station driving across central Oregon. I tend to flip coins on which way to go, (hate itineraries, having to plan out charging stations would drive me nuts) went to see where the next filling station was, didn’t have service for hours. Good thing I carry extra fuel because I would have run out.

Doesn’t do people like me who try to avoid the interstates at all cost. Traveling is much more interesting off the beaten path. That may be a good thing though, don’t really want the masses ruining the roads less traveled, ‘cause you know how I feel about people. :D :p

Cue the environmental justice nonsense. This is why the "green movement" can't be taken seriously. The only people chanting the EJ line are the environmentalists, the same people who are responsible for the environment to begin with. Same people with the solution, are the same people who brought you the problem.

    Lol!

Oh good! Can blast all those climate changing emissions directly into the atmosphere like what Musk is doing with SpaceX. “We must save humanity! But first we have to destroy it”

If you hate critical race theory just wait until critical carbon theory ™️.

We as humans cannot fathom what comes after our death without some deep mental gymnastics. It is far easier to just look at the past since the dawn of the industrial age until now. I hope the human race can withstand what ever might come next - and hope it is not like “The day after tomorrow”.

while looking back just fathom how far computers have come and you can see where we can be with electrical production. The next generations may not have “car enthusiasts” (which I wish does not happen)

The next generations may visit our strip mines the way we visit national parks- and tell the stories of “us” and how we (possibly) have suffered through climate change to get to a time when all energy is renewable.

    maybe Im full of sh*t
