It's all in how you feather the initial launch and that axle wrap

Launch hard and it won't unload until the 1-2 shift and then it'll load up again haha. That's a downside of the Chevy 63s

Sounds like you’re staying busy huh!

It’s been good, the bedliner on my new bus should be dry when I go back on Monday. We have to still all the seats up top still, and I have to wire in the tour audio system.

"Launch" is a really strong word for what mine does haha. I'd describe it as more of a lazy moan

Good looking van. I am not sure why the original owner of mine went the Quigley route. I wish it was a sportsmobile 4x4, paperwork shows it was drop shipped to Quigley prior to the sportsmobile conversion.

Speaking of this, @Speedytech7, have you considered at all upgrading your valve springs now that you have the Haltech to increase RPM? I know LCE offers a setup for the 5VZ, but the pricing seems ridiculous compared with when I did it for my 16 valve Saab

    Beats sitting around!

Im looking forward to seeing how that bedliner holds up, I used the harbor freight stuff on my flatbed and it’s….spotty at best. Need to redo it this spring i think.

what do y’all use for a PA system?

I haven't considered it, I'd really want to balance the bottom end better, being a V6 it has some of the worst primary balance and it's a truck engine so I'm almost sure Toyota didn't do a great balance of the rotating or reciprocating parts because RPM was never supposed to be a factor. The springs are overpriced like you say as well. It's not the only factor too, you really should convert to shim under bucket if you go to higher RPM on these heads or you risk the chance of winging one out of the bucket entirely. The 5VZ ranks pretty high on my list of engines that have no payoff for building, at least not in an old truck.

Yeah. I just assumed you had the older 60 and not the 99+. My 04 didn't have a kink like that lol

Ya, I really don't want to "build it" either, but I figured there could be some easy power on the table since I can boost my way into actually having power in the higher RPM range - if it's easy to upgrade valvetrain, which it seems not. Too bad you can't just slide in a helper spring in the middle of the stock ones..

Do we know what the factory valve seat pressure is? Maybe like 40lbs?

Do you know what year it is? Usually there's a BOM cast into the housing somewhere that will tell you
