Wall oven...

 

I say simplicity is the reason they are still made.
My mother worked for a friends cleaning company for awhile.
Never once did a worker break a coil top.

But in the short time my mother helped, they had 2 workers break glass top.

I do like the look of a smooth top better.

 

My parents have owned and rented numerous homes with coil stoves over the years, and we had the elements burn out and fail to heat but never break. We never had a house with a smoothtop range. Strangely enough, not including the house in Northern California that my dad believes have electric heat, all but three of our houses with gas heat had electric stoves...

 

Sane difference. My grandma's kitchen had both the wall oven and a regular freestanding one too.

 

I've never had that. This house and the one before it had a built-in oven and built-in microwave with a gas cooktop. The house in Virginia Beach had an electric range with a vented hood above it (no built-in microwave), and literally every other house we've had with the exception of the two government-owned houses in California has had a range with a microwave above it. The first house in PA had a gas stove, and the rest were all electric, and after having lived in houses with gas stoves since September 2007, I would not go back to electric if I could avoid it. Gas is just so much easier to regulate, and certainly easier to cook scrambled eggs or a heaping bowl of Mac N Cheese on!

 

Anna's house has a 36-inch Wolf gas range with a hideaway digital control panel that probably set her parents back about eight grand. It also has the original built-in fridge from 1994 that still works! No wall oven though, and the microwave is in the island...

 

Oven, microwave, cooktop, and ventilation at my parents' house; I wish this house had a convection oven like the townhouse in Furlong...

 

Downstairs furnace is running...

 

Not particularly cold today though, at least by "Southeast PA in February" standards...

 

We hit around 53 or 54 today, wasn't too bad in the garage.

 

Here's our old townhouse in Furlong; I joined TW in 2014 and lived in that house from September 2007 to March 2016, so some of the earliest pics of my truck were taken in this driveway...

 

I really miss this house sometimes!

It's a bit hard to tell, but if you look closely the townhouse had a downdraft ventilated cooktop with an opening above it, while the house we're in now has a far superior vented hood above it...

This is my friend Mike, the owner of the blue Chevy Trax, but that isn't my truck. He was on vacation with his family somewhere in Western PA back in 2015, his sister spotted a truck that looked just like mine, and she took his picture...
