Installed my @05Taco4x4 hubs today to replace some trq or other off brand hubs that gave up. Did my front super bumps as well. Passenger side fought the whole way.

Noticed some quality differences in the cheapo ones and member made...stamped and oem size hardware. Helps to know what tools you need instead of running for an 18mm :angrygirl:
And no oring came with my cheapies either.

Time is money... I'll stick with the member made from now on.
Right is trq left is @05Taco4x4

Did you have a tough time sliding the CV axle through the splines of the hub? When I installed his hubs last year on my truck, I had to draw the CV axles through with the axle nut (it was like they are an interference fit, but if I had to remove the CV axle from the hub, it can be done with a hammer/air hammer).

None at all. Was able to push the cv thru with my thumb on removal and it slid right thru the new hubs like it was meant to be.

Could your splines have been rusty or corroded? I clean mine with a wire brush just to clean up the threads and splines.

Going to swap my CV's soon to reboot them. The rubber is rather worn and starting to crack. I have a pair of Napa's to throw in while I do.

Gotta get this routine maintenance crap out of the way to get back to the fun stuff.

No, not at all, they still had grease/anti-seize on them from the last time I changed the bearings. Also, the old bearings/hubs I removed, the CV axles slid right in and out, they did not bind at all. I am guessing Dorman was having an off day when they made these hubs!
Well, if I need to do the bearings again anytime soon, I went with another company that uses all Toyota parts to build their bearings/hubs!

Where are you getting the boots from? I've been thinking of getting some high angle boots put on my spares; I scored 2 OEM axles off a 22 with 5k on them for $95 each... I have 1 aftermarket on there now and the inner is already cracking after 8 months and want to swap it out before it rips/breaks offroading

I haven't looked too far but I know OEM boot kits are roughly $45 per axle. CVJ makes an inner boot at a whopping $80 each but claim its high angle and made from silicone.. I've also seen people just stretch out the OEM inner so it doesn't rub on itself which might be the best route cost wise...

Maybe someone else can chime in that has some real world experience with either.

Been trolling some threads of known wheelers and looking into high angle boots and the boot stretch mod seems to be sound.

Think I'll go that route. My oem have lasted this long I'm no too concerned on longevity.

Depending how early this is, oil may be not needed. I've got 5k miles/2.5 months until I'm due for 10k.

If anyone is planning on doing front brakes: I have a set of OEM shims that you can have for free.
    Part number 04945-0C030
I lost them, bought a new set, installed the new shims and found the original shims yesterday.

Bought one myself a few weeks ago. I was sick of stacking blocks of wood to get the front of my truck off the ground lol. I would agree that it moves/rolls a little too easily and wish they included some kind of wheel lock. I prefer a jack like this over a hi-lift any day when out on the trails... I consider it money well spent (for me at least)

But I also look at it like this........in all honesty, how many times have you ever used your hi lift jack on the trails? I completely agree with you that it is a hell of a lot more stable then the hi lift jack, but weighting in the price vs how many times a person might use it on the trail is really hard to grasp. The "Cons" that I brought up would really be able to be changed to "pros" with some simple design elements added.
