Hello guys. When I drive my truck for long drive and than if I stopped and put reverse gear in I feel the back tires like they are strained or something holding them from spring and I hear clucking . Does anyone has an idea of what that could be?
    Thanks

Pull off the rear drums and see if the spring that holds down the brake shoes came loose. Also check that the other springs didnt pop off

Where is the sound coming from? Could be rear brakes (as mentioned), U-joint starting to go, hopefully not the transmission.
Try driving for a while in reverse, shift into drive and see if the same sound happens again.

I am sure this problem is bigger than rear brakes. It sounds like gear grinding. Especially when the truck gets hot after a long drive. One time I engaged 4WD h. Drove it in first gear when I got ready to park in a parking spot when turned to get in that spot the truck was like if it was chained and turned off.
This is the word describes the problem ( the truck feels like it’s (chained). The sounds come from the back.

    To rule out:
Are you sure you are in 2wd as 4wd on pavement will bind up the drivetrain.
Tacomas are part-time 4x4 so no dash lights on or flashing?
If in 2wd the front driveshaft will be free and not driving the front diff so when stopped simply see if you can turn the front shaft thus in 2wd.
Also if you have a rear e-locker is that off.

Here is an added rear brake diagram and link:

Ok friends, I raised my 2006 Tacoma back tires on jack stands and roll the tires back and forth. Booth tires move in same direction. But my truck doesn’t have e locker what so ever. What does that mean?. Please help

You have a limited slip diff, they're supposed to turn in the same direction.

Could be the LSD clutches are shot. When was the last time you drained the diff fluids?

I bought this truck 3 months ago, and I don’t know when was the last time that fluid was replaced. What should I do, and what does it mean clutches are shot?

note, this problem was there since I bought it.

Limited Slip Differentials have clutches in them that allow one side to slip for so long before engaging the other side. If the clutches get worn out they will be noisy especially when turning. I would drain the fluid and check for metal particles. Jack up on side with the other wheel still on ground and try to turn the wheel several times. If it turns freely then the clutches are worn out.
