Connector behind glovebox

Hey guys,

wondering if anyone could help me identify a connector. It’s a 12 pin connector behind the glovebox right next to the ecu.


Any info at all is helpful. On the off chance that someone has a diagram or pin out of the connector that would be awesome! Thanks!

 

Looks like the IH1 connector
It goes to numerous different things.
If you can tell us what it is you are doing, we can help more.

 

I'm working on connector pinouts but I haven't finished it yet.

Thank y’all so much! Hours of searching and I hadn’t found a thing, but this should answer all my questions!

As for what I’m doing, I’m on the tail end of an engine swap in my 06 Tacoma. Threw in a 4.3l from an 06 GS430 while also utilizing the factory 5spd manual and tcase from the truck. Engine runs great, I’m just working out the kinks at the moment. Hopefully will be driving it soon thanks to your help!

I appreciate it! You probably won’t see anyone do it anytime soon. I thought with it being a Toyota engine from the same year that it would be a fairly simple swap but it’s fought me every step of the way. Glad to have a community here that’s willing to help!

 

I’m surprised the transmission bolted up.
But then again, I’m not familiar with the 4.3

 

There are alot of engine swaps currently in progress on here, only time will tell if anyone successfully completes one.

Yea swapping to a different engine especially one from a different platform is never as easy as it seems on the surface, it's not like the old days where if it physically fit there wasn't much to making it run and drive. Everything now has multiple electronic systems that all have to talk to each other for everything to work properly even though the Tacoma is pretty simple electronics wise when compared to many other vehicles of the same vintage.
