I'm in the process of changing my timing belt, etc and noticed a bunch of dirt and such had gotten behind the number 1 and number 2 timing belt covers. It looks like there was some sort of gasket material on these covers which was in bad shape and allowed the dirt to get inside. What does Toyota use for this gasket? Is it a part that you buy or is it FIPG?

You can buy the gasket(s) from Toyota. They are cut to length.

    11319-20010 - Middle/Rear Cover Gaskets, L=130, 145 x2, 165 x2; Qty Req'd: 4
    11328-20020 - Lower Cover Gasket, L=425
    11329-20010 - Upper Cover Gaskets, L=270, 955; Qty Req'd: 1

Awesome! Does the "L=" indicate length in mm? Do I just need 1 of the lower cover gaskets?

Yeah, length in mm. Just 1 for the lower.

When I did mine I ordered two gaskets but I forgot the third. I ended up using some foam insulating tape from HD and it seemed to be fine.

Whoever did it before me (Toyota of Memphis) used a gray foam FIPG material. The stuff I got from the local dealer looks like weather stripping from the local home improvement store.
