Ise has cool project imma gunna start.

‘Tis feeschin lire is over 20 years old.
Guts lots of feesch wid it.
Stopped using it cause I don catch nuttin last few years.
So’s imma goona tries to spiice its up..

 

So very interesting with this lure.
The top coat/epoxy failed
So I peeled it off and it looks like my chrome one on the left



So think they dipped it.
Got a mask and turned on the blower and went at it with the dremel



Final sanding and prep



So I put about 5 coats of white as a prep



And something new. Took me 3 tries but I mixed a nice gold I wanted.
So I lightly sprayed a coat of yellow for brightness and sprayed my mixed gold.



Extremely happy I got the gold by mixing my std paint colors.
So now I’ll wait 24 hours to let this base harden before I spray the red blood patches and paint the top 1/4 black.

Then I’ll mask off the eyes and paint the layers of white, red, and black to make them meaner looking.
Also going to make them bigger..
This is fun.
I have a lot of faded, scraped, lures in my box.
Restoring them kinda close, with my twist is going to be a blast….

 

Any colors seem to bebetter than others?

Well up here, with my fishing, I’m no expert in any shape or form, I find 2 feet and above
Perch colors, green, yellow, black combo works good for me. From 2 feet down to med light,
4 or 5ft?, I use something that has a pop color. Something like what I’m doing now.
Anything below that I just use a solid color and or something that’s noisy..
I always put a spot of red somewhere on the lure. If it makes the stalking fish think it’s bleeding,
I’m good with that…

 

Oh yea. I switch every 15 min. And come back through the opposite way with a completely different presentation.
Last year it was so hot I caught nothing durning the middle of the season or day unless it was my black worm, and deep.
Later in the year I got to try my things I made. And I caught fish.
