Good afternoon! Just a quick beginner question

My wife and I are planning on buying a slide in camper in a few months and the total dry weight is just over 1000lbs.

I am also looking to install a 3" medium load lift for some pretty minor off road excursions (not with the camper)

A few of my coworkers are recommending that I look into airbags for the camper as well, instead of a lift.

My question for you all is, should I look into a lift, or airbags? What are the pros and cons of each option? The camper will not be on all the time either.

    Thanks for your input!

    Welcome.

I have lots of opinions on how everyone else should live their lives.

For a variable load that is ± 1000-1200 pounds, airbags will probably be your best suspension solution. Otherwise a non-adjustable suspension will either ride like a dump truck when empty or will break your bumpstops when full.

    Rock Lobster,

Thanks, buddy! I am green when it comes to lifts and such, so would airbags work well for off road adventures? I went a few times last year, and I realized very quickly why a lift would come in handy.

The most popular airbag is the Firestone, mounted with the Daystar cradles. This still allows full articulation of the rear without overextending/stressing the bags.

I briefly looked into ride rite, but for years they had mixed reviews. I don't know if they ever improved.
