Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Fresh oil in the jack and it works like a champ again. Good thing, as I had something new to try out with a working jack: https://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/bi...ands/0000000358102?bc=12937|12942|13094|13291 . They are 1/4" taller at their lowest and 3/8" shorter at their highest than the HF stands I was going to buy, which isn't a big deal. They were considerably cheaper. This will be much better than my old 3t stands that had to sit on 3x12 blocks at full extension to hold the tires just off the ground.

Oil change with the skids is different. Will have to try something different next time to see if I can keep from making a f&cking mess. First off, I now have a Stahlbus drain on the pan...getting to it isn't easy through the hole in the skid. I do have ideas though.

Try any cheap tire foam. I was skeptical. I tried it after the trip to Moab. F'n amazing. Be sure to cover the alternator with a plastic bag. 15 min to do a good job.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Spray down the outside of the radiator and flush out the fins from the engine side for a shit show you’ve got to see to believe

I'm interested to hear your ideas with the Ironman skids. I had to remove the front 2 to do my last oil change. I was planning to anyway as I needed to replace a couple bolts that were partially cross-threaded, but I'd like to find a way to maybe just remove the front plate to get at the filter. Keep me posted on this please!

Did it get to a dry state, or stay a bit greasy?

That looks pretty sweet, and super light and compact for a backpacking situation. I'm just looking for a good cup of coffee for now, but yeah, these don't appear to be very well suited for much more than boiling water. I do have a Coleman 2-burner propane stove as well, so I'm covered there for cooking.

It looked so good I never touched it, so I don't know. It's dry now (4 months later)

Back in the early 1990s I had a 87 Ford Ranger. I was in National Guard and we were at Fort McCoy. Some of us would drive there ourselves. One afternoon we took my Ranger and another guy took his GMC and we ran the tank trails. The tank trails are heavy sand with deep water holes. We hit water holes where I had water coming over the hood. We never got stuck, got real lucky.
The next day the GMC starter was dead, had to push start it. The Ranger, I had to stop at the closet gas station and clean the radiator, she was running hot. The rest of the way home the temperature would only go up when going through small towns. That was a bitch cleaning all that sand out.
    That was one tough truck.
Did some stupid things with that truck.
Sure I'm glad I'm older and smarter now.

Just picks the body up off the frame an inch. I don’t think you have to do anything weird with steering or shifters on a second gen for an inch but I could be wrong. I’m taking the 1” body lift out of my truck and going back to stock
