Edit: Apparently my pics didn’t stick around in my original post. Here they are, sorry for the inconvenience.

Located out in the sticks south of Eugene Oregon

$300 OBO and please tell me if I’m way high on price. I just made a number up, but truly I’m trying to get this stuff out so I have space for my next project.

This engine came out of my ‘99 tacoma at 260k, I’ve not checked anything on the engine other than comp. test (results in pic below) and pulling valve covers for a visual inspection. There was no residue built up at all in the valve train and things looked good to my eyes. I’ve been a user of Mobil 1 high mileage and I believe the extra detergents clean things up nicely. Note that this engine uses the composite head gaskets, not the updated MLS.

Will also mention that engine fired up and ran pretty well. Both valve covers were leaky but, the most notable signs of wear were: low power, one instance of a cyl. 3 misfire on a freeway entrance, as well as pretty annoying “ticking” sound. I was never able to fully locate the source of the ticking, but could be anything from valve adjustment issues to slop somewhere in the connecting rod area… that is for you to find out, so remember that aspect prior to tossing out an offer.

So, while the core of this engine is a US model, it’s adorned with JDM take-offs, and has NO OIL COOLER.

JDM flywheel (might be same as US, didn’t check) will go with package along with the extra set of cast iron manifolds.

Also, maybe someone needs a rear view mirror? Thinkin it’s out of a ‘97, but could be wrong. Might have a locking fuel door laying around too, so can be encouraged to find it if someone is in need.

If you’re in need of a delivery, chat at me.

    Photo of comp. test results.

I’m in the shop right now so can easily take more photos. Could you please clue me in to your areas of interest?

Price drop from $400 to $300. Still OBO, just trying to get this thing out of the shop. Someone shoot me an offer, I would really like this thing gone by March 16th.

Also had my longblock for sale for a while locally after my jdm swap. I ended up pulling the heads and selling them for more than the engine was worth and just metal recycling the complete block. Just an fyi, lots of folks looking for rebuildable or runner 3.4 heads out there.

Hey I really appreciate your response, it’s thoughtful of you to lend the suggestion. Fortunately I was able to sell it a while back on FB marketplace. This is a good reminder for me to mark this ad as sold.
