First time Tacoma buyer but not new to Toyota 4x4s

Getting ready to most likely order, since all the dealerships within hailing distance have fluffed up TRD ORs and I'm pretty specific I want a White TRD OR w/ Technology pkg or perhaps, I could be talked into the 'advanced Tech pkg' but don't want much else.

Don't want a Pro as I will put a lift on within a couple years. Don't like the Trail Ed as I want the full bed space (5')

If I order, anything to look out for or specifics I need to include that might not be obvious? Any tips or tricks here would be most appreciated.

**Also** - Do ALL TRD OR come with 'Towing Pkg' or is that something I have to ask for? I don't see the option on the Toyo build site.

    Thanks very much!

(Yes, I know title should be 'imminent', but auto correct and no way to change)

Towing Package comes with the V6 as standard. I have noticed some folks here not happy with White paint, but that may be a thing of the past? Not sure, but look that up on the forums to be informed!

Decide ahead of time if you want any "extended warranties" or other such things. They will be trying to convince you to get them.

If you are ordering... You may want to be patient as well! You may find your willingness to travel will go up. Also, you could use the fact that you don't "want" additional things as a negotiating tactic to bring a dealer down on cost.

    Happy Tacoma Hunting!

Toyota has issues with their white paint. I'm not sure if its been resolved at this point or not but may want to look into it.

No. 5' bed. I meant I need the full width... (that's what she said!)

I was in the same boat and am not upset that I went with an Off-Road w/ tech only (and it came with a tow bar that I did not specifically add to it), but some things to keep in mind:

The trail edition bed storage comes out relatively easily - only a couple of Torx bolts - and then the bed is the same as the standard option.

Westcott Designs makes preload collar lift kits for the 2.5 Fox shocks the Pro's come with (and they have outstanding reviews). From a stock vs stock standpoint - the Fox shocks on the Pro are far superior to what the OR comes with, but the OR trim is still very comfortable. It took a few revalves of my ADS 2.5's to match & improve from the ride quality of the stock OR setup.

The white paint seems to be an issue today. There is a consolidated thread somewhere on TW.

The MTM/ 360 camera quality sucks on my 2023 but it is still useful for parking my DCLB.

    Do Pro's ONLY come with a hood-scoop?

Alot of distributors/dealerships add accessories. Just keep that in mind. They can add thousands to the price.

Where are you located @Spike Strip? Certain regions have more inventory than others and a plane ticket may be cheaper than going to your local dealer and waiting 4-10 months. Some are advertising below MSRP to boot. Plus you get it now!

One suggestion- might want to search TW for “white paint”, reports of that color flaking and peeling are not uncommon.

Check out Lithia Toyota of Medford. A little bit of a hike but they are advertising several base TRD OR for $38,750 (MSRP of $41,062 for example). $2,250 off MSRP is worth it for a drive.

Since when is Toyota allowing custom orders? Every dealer I've contacted claims no more custom orders.

I'll find out tomorrow, but so far no one has said I couldn't order - wait would be a couple months, here in Los Angeles area.

It isn't an order you tell them what you want and they let you know when they get an allocation for something close to what you wanted you either accept it or wait for the next one.
