I saw a vehicle the other day that had eye lashes. I want say it was a Chrysler, what ever the neon replacement was. What ever it was the eye lashes were out by the top of the front fenders, and they kept messing with my peripheral vision as they were distracting my focus in their direction. I found that to be annoying but I guess they worked as intended.

I think you answered your own question here. Load up a Tacoma, get it up at 8,000 ft of elevation, and hold your breath trying to merge onto I-80 across Wyoming. It's terrifying.

I take it you never driven a Toyota with the 22R. Have done a few cross country trips, and all over the West. Trying to pass semis is hilarious…”I think I can, I think I can, I think I can….ahhh forget it”

3rd Gen is like a rocket ship in comparison, that said after having mine for a year and half, doing some trips with it. Sure it could use some better low end so you don’t have to wring it’s neck, transmission only seems to hunt when the cruise is on. Would be nice if S Mode stayed in the gear you put it in, and wouldn’t downshift. Some of those long climbs it would still want to downshift. “Ya know you do this 4th, *trans shifting back and fourth between 4th and 3rd, well crap *me clicking it into S3, guess we are doing it 3rd”. could trade it in on manual if bothered me too much, I can live with it though. Nothing is perfect.

    OME and worth every penny.
Looks great to me but then I think modern Toyo's look like shit.

Ehh, I had a first gen Xterra. That was a dog. I still have poor experiences with my 3rd gen. It's dangerously slow in some situations.

Agreed, best ones were the early 80s trucks. Be cool if they did a retro inspired one like what Ford did with the Bronco, however they don’t do retro well, the FJ Cruiser was case in point.

I think if the design language was boring instead of retro the results would be better.

Buddy had one of those, yep they were horrible. Yeah the 3rd Gen can be, I drive slow though, so not a huge problem and generally stay off the interstate. When I do have to, it does cruise a lot better than my 1st Gen. Have been driving both back to back lately, the new truck is a vast improvement. Looking forward to the 4th Gen, hopefully they improved it even further. Turbo 4 should solve the lack of bottom end.

Yeah maybe, do like the Bronco. Does seem like the design language is for guys who grew up with Transformers toys. Today’s trucks look like Japanese robots to me.

Do like the boring looking 70 series over what is offered in the US. would take one of those in a heartbeat. Separate steel bumper, no massive grill, actually has a decent payload. Still looks like a Toyota, maybe because the basic design is 40 years old… :D

The new Frontier looks like something from GoBots and has a boxy profile, it's not to over the top tho.

I like the 70 series and new Bronco sharp square classic lines. You look at and say that's a fender, that's a door, that's a bumper. None of that you can't easily see where the bumper ends and the fender begins.

I have actually done that before, on the way home from a Colorado elk hunt. Just can't be scared of holding it to the boards and shifting at redline.

I floor my taco almost daily lol. 4 cyl auto, merge onto a 60 (75-80) mph highway to get to work haha

Barely touch the throttle in mine, majority of my commute are ranch roads 45-50, cruises around 1400 RPM. Occasionally have to get around some farm equipment, it does get up and scoot pretty damn good. It’s weird, jump on the gas and it takes a bit, then bam! Next thing you know you’re doing 70-80, powerband is similar to a 125 2-Stroke dirt bike. Nothing, nothing, then Braaaaaap!

lol the very first turn on my commute out of my neighborhood is a left-hand across traffic straight up a steep hill on a 45 mph road (one of the main roads used to travel between my town and surrounding towns). It gets sketchy at times

Mine is easy like Sunday morning, fairly flat 25-35 for a bit, then a 45, to a 50, that eases back to 40.

Sometimes a little traffic getting out of town, only sketchy is if a cow gets out, a deer….or there are some peacocks that like to hang out on the road by one of the farms. Be just cruising a long looking at the scenery, and go “oh shit, brakes!”

Yeah we get a lot of deer here. Almost hit one both on my bike and in my truck in the last year or so. Lotta coyotes around but they usually don’t get within a few hundred yards of my property. Moose are a big problem in the northern parts of the state but I’ve only seen one down here in my neighborhood

Is that USD though? Bc the regular F150 raptor starts at $76k (before markups obviously)

The fog here can be a little gnar, use the nav to see where the cross roads are. To think I used to make fun of the electronic Gee-gaws.
