Let me offer some very valuable free advice:

Make it a trade thread only. You really don't want a cloud-stored transcript of people arranging and conducting unlicensed alcohol sales.

 

That's a really good point. Maybe it should be a spreadsheet of things we have that we are offering for trade, and things we are looking for? Maybe it also goes private at some point?

 

I would just make it trade only, because exchanges of property are legal provided both parties can legally possess what they are receiving.

Bringing currency into it gets very messy in a Federal Law kind of way. Not that it isn't done but.....it does carry risk.

 

My goal of finishing one of my open bottles has been attained. Good thing because these two followed me home today.

This was an interesting drink. This particular batch is 117 proof.

 

First time having this. Full disclaimer, I’m a horrible person to do a review of a bourbon. While I can taste some of the notes some reviewers taste, I’m not the guy to taste Napa leather. Or other weird notes.
Nose: smells like bourbon but a bit light. Nice actually.
Palate: Oak, caramel, vanilla and burn! This has some serious burn to it. I have quite a few bourbons in this proof range and higher. This has a kick, though it’s not unpleasant.
Finish: Classic bourbon flavors with a slow dissipation of the heat.
Overall, a good pour. I’ll see how a few weeks with the bottle treats me. Cheers.

 

I like the Penelope BP too and can also report it does not taste like leather.

It must be weird living in a place where different stores get different things.

On the other hand, I'm buying Gold Spot here for $120/bottle, which is a steal.

 

Mind if I ask what the small batch price is where you are? Just curious about prices these days. I’ve only ever seen Taylor a couple times in a store, and it was in the $120 neighborhood each time.

 

Basically there are 3 levels of stores, all based on volume, that dictates what and how much they receive. This applies to mostly higher end stuff, but for the most part every store has the same basic inventory

Most stores get 2 deliveries a week, same days every week, but not all stores have the same days. So when you see EHT hit a Tuesday/Friday store on Friday, your best bet is to head to the Monday/Wednesday stores on Monday.

Tuesday was the drop for my local stores for the EHT. I missed em. There's one that didn't get it's delivery yet, so I'm hoping it's tomorrow morning.

 

EHT might as well not exist here. Rarely shows up and is typically only sold to people on a "semi-secret" waiting list.
