I’m sorry but why can’t you just quickly move your foot from the brake to the accelerator pedal?

Works quite well on my 2012 chev express.:notsure:

It’s worked since the beginning of time.
This is a great opening for the potato-clock-posse to jump in.

    That's my cue!

Once long ago I got stuck in stop and go traffic. Truck in front had zero brakes, so his passenger would hop out and chock the tire with a cinder block. Then traffic would inch forward, he'd pick up the block and then throw it down in front of the tire to stop the truck, then kick it into a chock position as soon as it started to roll back.

I regret to this day not getting out and getting a better photo of the action. But if it worked for that guy, maybe we can put in a little more effort with our feature rich trucks.

Going back down the hill was a bit more interesting.

Luanda, Angola. Here's the kicker. The year I took those photos they had just surpassed Tokyo as the city with the world's highest cost of living. (I think they held that honor from 2009 to 2015.)

Two pages of fan buois saying how to get around the shit Toyota hill assist system, so being a shit system shouldn't matter.

In two more pages it'll be the best system on the market.

Nope. Just how to drive. He expects the truck to drive like the car and if he pushed the brake pedal down a bit, the system wouldn't even activate.

I have it on my 2021 DCSB/AT Sport...but don't get to use it much here in flat-land Delaware.

Flat-land Texas here. However, I frequently make it my life mission to give Colorado residents something to complain about.

I copied this from the owners manual.

Operating conditions of hill-start assist control
When the following four conditions are met, the hill-start assist control will
    operate:
●The shift lever is in a position other than P or N (when starting off forward/
    backward on an upward incline).
    ●The vehicle is stopped.
●The accelerator pedal is not depressed.
●The parking brake is not engaged.

Automatic system cancellation of hill-start assist control
The hill-start assist control will turn off in any of the following situations:
●The shift lever is moved to P or N.
    ●The accelerator pedal is depressed.
    ●The parking brake is engaged.
●Approximately 2 seconds elapse after the brake pedal is released.

    LOLOLOL

Just treat it like you normally would an automatic...that's if, one owns/operates an automatic.

I actually found in useful this one time I was in Wilmington, DE and parking on a downward street. Someone had boxed me in and left just enough clearance for me to turn the wheel and avoid hitting the corner of his car.

Took foot off the brake after engaging "D" and my Sport held the position for a second or two before I pressed the brake again.

I thinks it's more of a challenge using clutch/gas/brake to keep from rolling back or forward.

I dealt with it when I drove my NEWLY PURCHASED 5-Speed V6, 1993 Izusu Rodeo.

    No

I can't recall ever having this problem in a Tacoma, but I have driven plenty of vehicles and have need to use the accelerator and brake at the same time.

Sometimes you have to depress all three pedals at once.

If I told the fan bois here that my wipers lift up off the glass at anything over 60 they would say that as long as the driver's window rolls down so I can stick my head out in the rain to see where I'm going, there is no problem with the wipers.
