You get into cutting thicker metal, and the learning curve gets steeper.

Yeah. All of the devices I deal with are on private networks that are usually airgapped from the internet, but our programmers seem to have never left a data center. If we’re lucky they might update every 6 months. It’s a never ending battle to remind them that not everyone is on version n, and that I’m still dealing with their bugs from version n - 4

    Sigh

I wouldn’t get anything other than OEM. It has too important of a job.

At least your superiors make that amendment.... my wild west ass owner doesn't know the special differences from one piece of equipment to the next and just asks the to take a picture and send it to us. For us to figure out exactly what he needs

That’s one of the differences between a product from a well organized business and an overgrown hobby project.

Yeah I am one the fence on if I want awd in a sports sedan. I like that the back wiggles when I want but don't like the lack of grip when it gets slick out like today.

And I am not all that worried about finding a shop. I heard horror stories about AMG, Mini, Land Rovers, etc and honestly it feels overblown. Sure there's some extra costs but I think most things I can do myself. C'mon, awd diesel wagon would be cool and unique.

It's not overblown and you are 100% just coasting on luck. That said a lot of things are fixable way cheaper than those diesels even though you'll still spend a ton if something goes wrong with one of the gassers it'll be less so than with the diesel that absolutely zero people in the states know how to work on

    100% truth

This company has SOOOO much potential. Regretfully, until the bossman retires or had a serious come to Jesus moment, we'll never be more than an overgrown hobby

Yeah, they're worth $150-350. The overwhelming majority of them are drum brake

The drums get chucked in the trash, Lugnut4x4 and a few others make disk brake conversions.
