Rear lift options

I'm planning to lift the front either 2.5 or 3.0

I did all this research for the front but completely forgot about the rear lift

Obviously getting a new leaf pack but what brand is good for my needs

I'm doing overlanding
and I want to increase the weight capacity

I got recommended the Icons RXT but other brands are similar

 

Deaver and OME are pretty good options too

 

Some complain that OME leafs squeak.

 

I’m running medium dobinsons leafs, rated for 200 pounds of constant weight.

Been about a year, really happy so far.

 

I've had OME medium load leaf packs for about 8 months now. So far, I've been happy. No squeak.

 

Ditto on the Dobinsons springs. I'm running the heavy-duty, 600 lb constant load.

I would suggest adding up your consistent weight that you will be carrying, this will give you a good baseline to look at rear leaf packs and shocks. Icon rxt is a good option and are on sale with a few vendors right now. I have had Ome HD heavy and I am running Icon at stage 3 right now with a pretty heavy rig and have had no issues.

I'm getting dobinsons MRA coilover and rear shocks

What coilover you're using?

 

I’m using OME nitro charger soft valved shocks and 2887 OME springs.

 

I'm running an OME-005 Heavy kit with SPC UCAs and I tow a 3500# trailer and have an RTT on my rig, a leitner rack, and decked drawers loaded. I like the OME Dakars and I have also heard very good things about the deavers. Check out dobisons suspension kits for the Tacoma as well. I hear good things about them too.

 

I had the OME EL112R (660lb constant rear load) plus the

$55 EL46XL ARB XL to Suit El095R 96R

EL46XL add-a-leaf to bump the weight rating to 800lb. I liked them (and no squeaks at all), but I managed to damage them during installation - there are spacers between the leafs where you secure them with U-bolts to the axle. The spacers are short and if the U-bolt is set slightly askew, you will end up compressing the spring where the spacer ends. In my case the springs distorted and lost a lot of their carrying capacity. A great garage in Zagora, Morocco noticed that this fall and reshaped all the springs (and added another leaf). See photo.

Upon my return I weighted the truck - I carry about 900 lb fixed load over the rear axle and 1300-1500 lb total fully loaded. I opted for the Dobinsons L59-112R (880-1210 lb constant load) plus the L59-113R add-a-leaf (brings constant load capacity to 1210-1450 lb). Without the add-a-leaf the truck sagged too much. It seems great, rides firm but well - but I do not have yet long term experience to report. Installation was reasonably easy.
