I took my car out for a drive today, after I first fired it up a damn mouse ran out from underneath. Popped the hood and there was a big pile of insulation on the lower intake manifold and another packed inside the drivers side fender.

    Not good.
Hopefully it was just a home and not a meal.

I hate seeing a squirrel run out from under my truck.
Every spring and summer I catch them running out from under the truck.

So far, I haven’t seen any signs of them being in the engine bay.

Thankfully it looks like it had just been hanging out as nothing looked chewed on, took the shop-vac and air compressor to it to suck all that insulation out. Those damn squirrels are a pain in the ass too, I get some kind of Ground Squirrels in the summer that like to dig tunnels.

My parents had a mouse get into the doghouse of their class A motor home and fuck up a bunch of stuff. I was very surprised when I started the V10 up, and it was a V6. I was also very surprised when I popped the doghouse open to find the remnants of a rodent splattered all over the motor with wires laying everywhere.

It was about 5000 dollars in damage. And a jug of disinfectant.

No, I’m not looking for a truck currently.
You surely aren’t selling the one in your profile picture?

    I don’t know man.
I still miss my 1st Gen.

It was problems because all the good memories I made with it.
I’ve driven Pickups, 2nd Gens and 3rd Gens.
None of them are a 1st Gen.

    I like it.
I’m just not sure I like it enough to get me to pick it over a previous gen.
But then again, if I had a lot of extra money laying around, I might bite.
But I’d still want to keep my “simple” 2nd Gen.

Especially with all the bad press about Hyundai’s and Kia’s getting stolen, it seems wise to stay away from them. The issues seem to be stacking up.

They make a sharp vehicle, but Toyota/Honda/even Ford will get my money first.
The 3rd gen is a nice truck. I’m happy with mine. Don’t regret the purchase. The part I struggle with is the ‘truck’ trying to be something it’s not. The price point puts it up there with a luxury vehicle. But it still rides like a truck and lacks top end features. If you are not using the Tacoma for truck things, I wouldn’t call it a smart buy. And honestly if you are using it for truck things, might as well get a beater truck.

Yet Toyota sells a boatload of Taco’s. To myself included lol

    I can agree.
I bought my truck with dents in it.
While I do try to keep it clean and take care of it, the damage was already done.
Hauling wood, mulch, blocks, and stuff isn’t too big a deal.

What saved my truck from a lot of wear is when I bought my utility trailer.
So much easier to load and unload.

Who needs a Tacoma to haul a utility trailer? Just go torture test an old Corolla. For science :fistbump:

Insert the obligatory “I’m very happy everything was not filmed and thrown on the internet when I was a teen” quote.

    Now get off my lawn!

Speaking of “filmed” my brother did just that on his street bike.
Believe it or not, some (most) cops are cool.

The guy that caught him and his friends told them how stupid they were for filming it.
I think this statement was something like “I could write you a ticket, or put you in jail. But I am afraid you boys are too dumb to find your way to court. And we don’t want deal with you at the jail.”

    He didn’t even write them a warning…….

But no……when I get pulled over with them, I don’t get off as easy.
Needless to say, I do my best to avoid Anderson Country, Tn.

Rather than avoiding a county, maybe you should avoid riding with this group that holds the intelligence of the three stooges
