A few months into owning my truck, I was wheeling on day and when I got home I realized my passenger side fog light had been smashed. Hard enough to where the bulb got knocked out of the housings.

The other fog light that was untouched did not want to turn on either now. Low on funds and with other things to worry about, I went several months without fixing this. Recently decided to finally take care of it so I can use my fogs again after all this time...

Instead of buying one replacement OEM housing for around $50, I ended up coughing up the near $200 and bought the Morimoto XB LED fogs housings. During installation I could not get the truck to power on either of the fogs... I reversed the polarity on both, nothing. Tried only one plugged in at a time, nothing. (They plug directly into the OEM plugs)

I know the Morimotos are fine because I hooked up the leads to a drill battery and they turned on just fine and look great... I have checked in my fuse box under the hood (which I will admit has some dried up mud in there from previous adventures), unplugged the only module labeled "FOGS FR" and swapped it with another module (blue box with 4 prongs) with no luck. I have checked for voltage directly at the plugs where the housings connect to and there is no voltage. I have also sprayed the fuse box with lots of electronics cleaner with the battery disconnected. The fog indicator light DOES turn on when I flip the fogs on.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Is there a fuse for fogs under the steering column?
    Any ideas?

What fuse though? The only thing I can find that has anything to do with fogs whatsoever is the small blue box looking fuse under the hood, which does not seem to be the issue as I swapped it with a different one from the fuse box and it still did not work.

Doesn't seem like it. The wires look perfectly fine to me...

I would sequentially pull each fuse make sure one is not blown, for your first step in diagnosis. There are also fuses in the engine compartment for the hi-amp electrical components. Get a volt meter to help check the fog light output, if no fuse is blown. Use volt meter to see if your ground on the dogs are still good. Last thing I can think is to verify that the fog light relay is functioning.

I blew a fuse puting LED's on the interior lights. Found the blown fuse under the steering wheel. Have you checked there?

that module is a relay. you need to check your fuse. not sure if its under dash or in engine. One or the other tho!

[IMG] Is this the same diagram that you have? The first 15A fuse above the fog relay show FOG FR.

Id be interested too. I just installed diode dynamics ss3 and keep blowing my fuse. Then unplugged both side, replaced the fuse, turn on the fog light switch nothing plugged in and still blew it.

Any light on this thread? Just experienced this today, no illuminated icon that appears on my cluster when I hit the switch, fogs are new.

You'll have to check the wiring...sounds like the hot lead is grounded somewhere in the circuit.

Geez man this was so long ago... I don't remember at all. I've since moved over to Diode Dynamics SS3's and have been running them fine for years now. Sorry...
