Anyone have a TRD intake for a second d Gen tacoma with a supercharger? They don't sell them anymore and maybe I thought I could try my luck here lol asking for a friend PFA. I bought the Gen II and it won't clear AC lines







Last pic is of my other tacoma that is now for sale.

Should the afe Pro Dry work with the throttle body location if I were to transfer the intake from my old taco to this supercharged one? 

 

I would also check FB groups and Ebay for the TRD intake. Just keep an eye out and be ready they turn up fairly often

 

@tacos_modern_life You've got that SAIS or whatever it is right? Idk if that will be an issue or not as I don't have that.. but the AFE will fit, yes.

I ran that same TRD intake for a while, then switched to an AFE pro dry, then back to stock + snorkel. Everything fits with the Blower.

 

Interesting. Yeah idk what is is between Gen 1 and 2 1GR-FEs but it doesn't look the same as my buddies supercharged 2016 4runner with the same motor. Fingers crossed that the afe will work lmao

 

those arent the same motors...

4runner is dual VVTI.. Tacos are single. They just changed some carb/Emissions stuff in like 2012 I think. Your 1GR-FE and my 1GR-FE are the same.. minus that system. The AFE WILL work.. as long as its for that newer system. I cant remember if it matters or not, like I said mine doesnt have that like yours.

2009 (4th Gen) was the last year of the same VVTI motor as the tacos. 2010 to present (5th Gen) have the Dual VVTI.

 

Hopefully moving up north to Prescott around the end of this year, so it's time to start clearing out the garage... Posted some of this stuff awhile back but didn't get any hits so I'm gonna try again. Open to offers. I'm located near Ray/Cooper in Gilbert.
