Been running the stock tires on my Pro for almost a year now, 18k miles. I have wheeled it all over including Moab, Lake Tahoe, and Sedona. The stock tires are not great, but they work well. My nerve is holding me back more than my tires. I added a set of rock sliders to give me some peace of mind out on the trail. I also added a folding tonneau cover for more storage. Lack of interior storage is one of my biggest complains about my ‘22 Pro come from a full sized GMC Sierra. However, I knew this coming in due to owning a driving a 2nd gen PerRunner since ‘06.

I only average about 17 mpg right now, which is less than my old full sized V8 4x4. I think that I am going to go with stock sized Duratracs or Falken Wildpeaks at 25k miles and switch the Goodyear Kevlar Territories to my ‘06.

I vote to just drive it and enjoy it for a while until you decide what you want to improve first.

The only tire you would have to mount a specific side outwards would be an asymmetrical tread pattern. Which are few and far between, especially AT truck tires.

I was installing an Icon suspension system, and discussed tire/wheel selection with Icon at the time. Icon advised to not go any bigger than 33s and to go with a zero offset. Their advice was based on keeping as close to stock as possible on the tire size and offset to minimize having to do a body chop, etc. It was good advice, but I still had to do a small chop. Since I was installing a new front bumper, that was not a concern regarding clearance/rubbing issues. The choice that I ended up making was a more conservative one since my truck was being built for overlanding, and not for rock crawling or hitting any difficult trails.

I ended up going with Yokohama Geolander X-AT Tires (LT 285/70 R17) and Method 703 Wheels (17x8.5, 0 offset). I like the tires and wheels, plus they look great on the truck. I did notice that the speedometer now reads about 2-3 miles slower that what I'm actually going. I also noticed a decrease in MPG.

yes im running 285/70/r17 with 4.88's and the speedo is 3 mph off. And so is the mile per gallon until empty. Drove to idaho last week said i had 8 miles until empty filled up the tank only took 18.5 gallons. Oh and got the OTT tune the week before i left little pickup acts totally different now. PNW tuning thanks again!

Going up to 265/75 16 won't affect the speedo? Really? I hope you're right because recalibrating my speedometer is not incentivizing me to go bigger than stock size.

That's what I am running. 285/70/17. Excellent performance offroad, in the rain, and snow.

Nope. I was worried I'd have to buy the calibration tool and install it in the dash. This size difference compared to stock is so small that it actually made my speedometer more accurate. On stock I was ~ 2-3 MPH off and now within 0-2 MPH.

I’m a true believer and currently on 265/75R16 but I plan to go to 285/75R16 and going for nitro ridge grappler, kenda klever mt or Yokohama geolandar MT
