Seems like I am constantly buying hoses. Guys dont take care of shit, they run them over with heavy equipment, crush the ends or constantly putting cuts in them from driving on them over gravel and shit. These ones, (the rust colored rubber hoses) seem to work the best and be the most durable. If its just going to be you using it I would probably go with that green one you posted, because you are going to take care of it better than a bunch of construction workers.

Especially if you live where it dives really cold. Like 50°F.

I gave up on rubber stiff ass hoses. I have some Flexillas now that are over 5 years old. They look a little grungy but perform like new. My wife cleaned one though with Simple Green, looks new again.

Craftsman used to have these black rubber hoses and they were awesome. never kinked and the fittings were quality. I bought my parents a set like 10-15 years ago and the still have them.
When i got my house i wanted those same hoses. Nope. they only have the red ones, which seems to be on the lesser quality side. the red ones kink up, fittings corrode fast. So i decided to get flex hoses. They are way lighter and easier to handle when wrapping up than the rubber.

Started the flooring (laminate wood) today. I think it's mid grade as it's not easy to work with. Planks separate frequently when tapping others into place. Some blue tape seemed to help keep things in place. Crooked room of course, but I'm running straight. Started at the transition/threshold at the dining room floor (hardwood) as that's the most visible area where anything not square would be noticed. Where I placed the island worked out perfectly.

Plastic/ABS or metal? Looking at doing something similar in the spring. Trying to see if the metal is worth the extra cost. Little worried about rusting too with the metal

...^^^... I have several sets of those hose and have owned them for years .. super hose.

Also bought several more sets when Sears was going under ... they had them at 75% off a few years ago ... have the extra new hose rolls in the garage now for the future.

I too had a couple sets of those hoses! Best damn hose I've had so far. I unfortunately had to leave them (among a bunch of other stuff!) in Mississippi when I moved back north. Haven't found anything like them since.

I might try a 50' Flexzilla like yous guys are talking about. I have a 3' Flexzilla extension I bought to hook to a pump I used to drain my water softener and I really like it.

Nonsense. Engineers know exactly what they're doing. They just have no idea what you do.

this designer has a lot of good ideas but is not from a construction background so has really no understanding of how a house actually gets constructed

Wrapped up the floor today, did a cleanup, dump run and got things organized for fridge & island panels, toe kicks, hardware and remaining trim. Need to have some thresholds milled up too.

Per the instructions on this flooring. They want silicone on all exposed edges along walls & cabinets and a bead on the bottom of trim boards. WTF? Package says waterproof.

No pictures and it wasn't my home, but I installed a new toilet at my co-workers new place. The old Briggs 1.6GPF just wasn't flushing like it should. Their kids already clogged it up twice. I suspect something is lodged in there, previous owner had dogs, so I'm thinking a toy was stuck in the trap. Lowe's had a nice American Standard 1.6GPF on sale so we picked one up. And of course nothing is ever simple. Removed the old thunderbucket and cleaned the old flange up and found it was all broken up. 20 year old double wide, so it was to be expected. There is an Ace hardware closer than the Lowe's so I had to use one of the only repair kits they had.

    https://www.lowes.com/pd/Danco-Hydr...-in-in-Toilet-Flange-For-Fits-Most/1000034733

Kinda weird to install and I hope it holds up. I told myself we shoulda picked one up with the toilet just in case. Toilet flushes well, and I'm the one who got to use it first :D

Might even pick one up for my house, but I'll have to trim the baseboard heater to get it to fit. That will be the case probably for any new toilet...
