Reverse light blinking and beeping?

Hey,

My wife has my truck this morning and just called me to say that the reverse indicator light on the dash is blinking and beeping. I've never seen this before. It's a base model truck without a backup camera or reverse proximity sensors, so I'm at a loss. Anyone else ever deal with this?

Does your truck have a manual transmission?
I’ve heard the 6 speed trans will beep when you put them into reverse.
I have an automatic, so I’m not familiar with the system.

Maybe you have a bad reverse switch.

I bet @Dm93 knows exactly how the system works?

 

Reverse inticator light on the dash tells me it's an auto, my manual beeps when I put it in reverse but I don't think the autos do?

 

Mine doesn’t beep.

My 5 spd manual didn’t have a dash indicator.
Wasn’t sure if the 6 spd had an indicator or not?

 

No indicator just a single beep when going into reverse and the camera comes on in the radio.
The indicator blinking and it beeping is definitely strange, I'd need more information to form a hypothesis.
Just throwing this out there but is it 4wd and if it is maybe the switch accidentally got flipped to 4lo?
