The OP seemed to be a pretty reasonable guy and understood what people were concerned about.

On the other hand there always seems to be a very vocal contingent who think GCW and payload numbers mean absolutely nothing and being able to physically move something with the truck provides irrefutable evidence that the truck "can" tow it.

 

Its hard to get any real facts with he /she said

 

No real difference from taking a corner too quickly on a curvy mountain road and rolling. Insurance covers the repair. Your premiums skyrocket and stay high for many years.

I grew up in a small upper middle class neighborhood, mostly surrounded by fairly to very wealthy neighborhoods. I always told people- you want to see crazy? go hang out with the rich kids, they don't work or pay for anything, so they have no idea what they have. And, to make it worse; when they do get in "trouble" their family comes in with money, political and business influence to get them out,, simply because the parents can't have Baby Huey ruining the family's good name.

 

I feel like here in SoCal any insurance company could apply that logic once you enter onto any one of our freeways.... "sorry, any reasonable person would have known you'd likely get into an accident, claim denied" lol
