If you plan on using your skid plate, I’d save the money and just hit it with some spray paint. I pretty much spray mine everytime I take it off

Yeah, I did that with my rock sliders, and I have to touch them up a lot just from gravel, sand, etc. getting kicked up by the tires. Too late to do anything different since they are welded to the frame. I was thinking for the skids, I would powdercoat it the first time, just a plain white, then be ready with a spray can for touch-ups after they hit things. The bumper is going to be a textured white with a silver vein underlay. I'm excited for that!

Is there any place near the area where we can set up a quick camp on Fri?

I'm planning to make Sourgrass on Saturday, and if you're hosting @SwagThor on Sunday, I'll roll by - I can use some help with diff skid (apartment parking lots don't work great)

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Sourgrass is Day Use only, but that's National Forest all around there. There's places to camp not too far from the Sourgrass day use. I'm not familiar with them though. When we camp on 4 it's always above Dorrington.

I stayed the night here once, allegedly. No signs, no gates, and has a fire ring. It's a dirt road before the campground/bridge. Someone was camping at the parking lot of Sourgrass.

You can camp on the sour grass trail as well there’s a few spots not too far from the trail head. I wouldn’t camp at the day use I’ve seen people get ticketed.

Wakalu Hep Yo is closed. Might wanna just check the surrounding area for dispersed camping and be sure that's OK. The FS closes most stuff in September/October and doesn't open it until May/June (or the snow is gone).

Its lookin' like we are gonna party! Oh, and get some work dun too? maybe? @71tattooguy is also coming up from The Bay. @530Taco said he may bring some tri-tip to smoke or grill, and I'll get some hoagie rolls and make sure I have some fixin's. Sounds like there will be plenty beer (and other herbs). Weather is supposed to be a high of 63 and mostly sunny...

    I think I'll show up around 9:00.

@TacoEspecial, if you don't have your truck, and can't use the Subie, maybe someone can pick you up if you are available?

I would be down for the welding. Full disclosure though, my nephew welded mine in a weekend (mostly because I bought it 2 years ago and didn't get around to it). I should have my skids welded this weekend so you can see if you approve of my work. Buy a kit from CoastalOffroad and bring it over (or have it shipped to me). The kit you see in Dino's pic above is $829 today.
