I see them of course, but they are rather pedestrian, and this isn’t a paying job.

I was charmed by fora, that’s all.

A friend of mine that has a chevy duramax has been going back to them every fall. They must be ok as his truck has zero rust, and is close 20 years old.

I know, I know. But I've been stuck deciding between two different undercoats -- the Waxoyl and the Boss Wax / NHOU. I know most of you will roll your eyes, but that's the way I have to go, I have to pay someone. And they are NOT cheap, as you also likely know.

Right now I'm stuck because Waxoyl is cheaper, and claims like NHOU that their job is forever, but .... there is no warranty!! The company is apparently in Switzerland, they ship to businesses here, but each applicator shop has to make their own warranty .... or none. The dealer did tell me, though, that I could get free touch ups for as long as I own the truck. I trust them. But it's up to me to keep crawling under and examining. If I miss something in a remote corner, and it rusts, well that's my bad.

NHOU dealers, though, provide a warranty from the home company. They require you to come in every 2 years (for $99) and get an inspection and touch up, to keep the warranty alive.

So I'm gonna go with NHOU, and count it as money well spent -- it should keep me going a long time

Thanks all, I know it's been a LONG one, and I did overthink perhaps, but I feel ok now, and many thanks

Yes, I will post pix, that's part of the warranty here.

No, I'm nobody famous or important. Just a simple country boy in Sanbornton, NH, feeling more than a bit overwhelmed by all the info flying around here on this forum, having to duck each time a new piece of advice comes flying by, and worried that I might not get it right, and I don't want to blow it, given this great big investment. This is the second time in my life that I bought a truck brand new.

I don't know who either of those names are, sorry. And I bet most of the posters here DO know those names. Like I said, just a simple country boy.

Check out that New England Undercoat I linked to. It's probably close by and it sounds pretty good.

I have been detailing cars for 38 years in the South East part Va. I have been using the same solvent base under carriage spray for 25 years. I put it in a garden sprayer and spray away. I do it every year to my Tacoma and my Wife's Limited 4Runner and both still looks like new. Granted I keep it in a climate control garage and don't drive it in the rain as I run the piss out of our 99 4Runner and the under body on that is like as well. I need to find out the name of this but it says undercarriage protective coating and shine, same sticker for 20 plus years. Its just a sticker over the cap on a 5 gallon bucket spout. This is good stuff for us out of the salt belt.

Just be prepared to see them every year if you go that route. You're always going to need minor touchups in high abrasion areas if not able to do it yourself.

Seriously? It should look brand-new WITHOUT any undercoat, why would you even bother?

    NH Oil Undercoating

Just be aware ... it WILL DRIP for a period of time! They told me 2-weeks when I had it done last August. Anyways, I have a beautiful paver driveway, of which I couldn't park my Tacoma on for the next 3+ months, or else I'd be cleaning oil spots off the pavers every day ...

Yeah, they salt the roads, or use their nasty deicing sprays, they will eat you undercarriage away after a few years. Plain old rain isn't an issue as long as you don't live in the salt belt.

Krown or similar twice a year and wash the car often in the winter. It's not complicated.

Here's my rust belt 2016, pics taken 48hrs ago..it's not rocket science.
