Supply work happens today. Not sure what the plan is for it but I’d assumed intent is through the joists or studs. Plumber bought pex so I’m betting joists since it can work around the ducting.

supply is not currently notched, it was inside the soffit.

I always used the crimps with good success, but have no experience with clamps but expect they work fine also

I use the clamps. They're easier to use in tighter areas, which if you're working in an old house, run in to all the time. I've used a couple Sharkbite's over the years, but prefer to solder on a fitting to transition. Reminds me, I had to use one SB 3/4 tee when I installed my water heater as nobody had 3/4" PEX tee's at the time. Still need to swap that out...

Going through the process of window quotes. 7 windows in the front of the house to replace. Awning style. Single pane currently and terribly inefficient. Can’t close well or seal.

Quoted from Renewal by Andersen and Window World so far.

Window brand preferences? Window world has their own brand and Andersen uses their product of course. Looks like Pella and Marvin are big brands local to me at least too.

    (2) 8 story apartment buildings, (1) 6 story, 1st flr retail, 5 flrs above apartments, (1) recreation building w/ pool

They're all PT slabs so you can shove a shit ton of conduit in the slabs. Pretty crazy amount of electrical in there though, I agree.

Just spoked with my plumber, he's not remotely concerned about the wall. Not even a little bit.

Square D the only way to go for me. Over 45 years of installs, not one failure for both QO and Homeline.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    That's because he's a plumber.

It's interesting how people can give no f's about stuff sometimes :)

Anyway, I did convince him to give me a separate water hookup for the steam for my dryer, that'll simplify the rats nest of T's in the back for us.

Cool that's he is a structural, civil and materials engineer. You don't find many with PE's that are also licensed in your same state. And do plumbing.

Yeah, I think I have to tread lightly on this b/c he's the GC's pal and they are both super old school. Says he always goes studs over joists. I think he'll do some nailers and then what I will try to do is swap those out for stud shoes in the dark of night and assume the GC won't know the difference. And/or discuss with the GC after the fact. I just found it interesting how little concern he had after my research last night on 40% single and 60% double stud code stuff and the 2 stud rule. I think we probably should have done one more joist since they don't go the full length due the light box until the double one bay over, but what's done is done drain-wise. So I'll try to do what I can with the GC once these guys are complete with the supply stuff.

In the meantime, 7 more quarter turn angle stops to swap out now that water is off.

    PNW?

WA - you would need a structural buy off on the plans, I would think. You or GC pulled a permit, I assume? Or all stayed at simple remodel level?
    OR - ?
    ID - ?

Not sure if this qualifies as home improvement related, but I'll ask anyway. I want to replace a couple of mattresses and with Presidents Day around the corner sales should be popping up. Any recommendations or brands worth looking into? Thinking about one of those fancy ones that adjusts.
