Good to see someone else on 35s too, looks like your tires are still too close to the frame like mine though. I think you may want to go with 12s with a 1" body lift. Then you can make everything fit pretty neatly.

 

I would have never guess there was a D44 hiding under those, what's the reason to swap from a Toyota 8.4 to a D44 though?

I built it for my 92’ and had it laying around. It’s spooled and has 4.56’s so I was like fuck it and put it under the 96’ with the 35’s.

 

Maybe 12’s with a 1” shorter rod eye?

Not now. I drew a permit back when we had a removal program and went over by @Speedytech7 and treed one back in 09’. They got rid of the program. Used to do bear damage permits but those are gone now too so we just run coons. Sucks but it’s better than silver bracelets and fines.

 

Put the two together and everything fits super nice. The other option is to tilt them inward too. You can see how far mine hang down currently and why I plan to move them up so much.

Can see the lower mounts hanging down.


Uppers are as far up as they can be




Would work a lot better farther up as far as approach angle to the bottom mount and how far that mount hangs down.

I will confess I do have a partial shock relocate going on right now so that’s what kicking off the project. Definitely need more up travel than I got.

 

Where I live it’s a rainforest full of rivers, swamps and creeks. We get races 600 yards to a half mile with cold nosed dogs. Not everything trees in the ditch.

 

@Speedytech7 are you using a 1” body lift to clear that shock mount?
