Same here (Subbie fan). I was a big Collin McRae fan when he raced for the Subaru WRC Team. I even had a 2000 2.5 Impreza RS, 2 door, that eventually got totaled because of an accident while driving in a snow storm. Lost control, spun into the other lane and an oncoming car hit me and bent the frame. Saddest day of my life (at that point). Had big plans for it eventually, but oh well.

My mid life (or post retirement at this point) crisis car is an STI. That's my "goal" in life right now, to eventually buy one.

 

And eventually a Richard Burns fan as well, when he raced for Subie.

 

Ah yes, the iconic turbo bypass cheater car...and I say that with respect. It was a brilliant rule work around.

My dad had one of those same year, upgraded to a bugeye wrx when they came out, and then the sti when that was offered (the same one I learned to drive stick in and then owned later), id kill to hop back into a blobeye, especially since I can probably actually take care of it this go around

I had a 2001 F250 crew cab with the 8' bed. IIRC it was 21' long. Really liked that truck & it stopped being long after about a week. Always had enough bed space, had a whole backseat for delicate stuff. Got sick of it breaking - always something & basic stuff was always expensive. ...and you couldn't pull the sparkplugs without the chance of pulling the threads with them. In frustration I sold it & returned to Toyota buying my Tacoma. Regular cab, stepside = always wonder if anything (everything) will fit in the bed. Dunno, the big trucks always seem to break expensive.

I just remind myself how much more a fill up would have been when I fuel up the Taco. I've got a U-Haul 1 mile away, so if I have a real need for a full size, I can rent one for $19.95 + miles / day. It just makes sense.

I got a 1st gen Tundra to supplement the Tacoma for 2 years. That "full size" (midsize) pickup was really perfect, but I hated the stupid suicide doors. Sold that, eventually I'll get another first Gen Tundra, but with full crew-cab back doors & auto-magic back window.

Still waiting on some cables and I ordered a new set of wire clips. The ones I have, the adhesive isn't that great.
I hope to have my PC assembled this weekend. Did some work on my book cases after getting as far as I can without the cables.
Found a mod online where you screw the bookcases together ("Billy", from IKEA). Now they are even and not wobbly.

Sadly I've done nothing on the truck apart from the brakes. Once this project is done I can start with much needed work on the Tacoma.

I have friends that are snowmobile people. They always packing up and towing the sleds north to use them .

Probably had the 5.4 V8. I can usually tell when one of those go by - many have a 'ticking' it seems. I still have a full size 20 year old truck. Keeping it as a backup while I'm still working and if I have to transport a big load of something.

Stamped metal , but I had a wood surround made by my old roommate at the time and attached it with brass screws and countresunk washers.
I was going for the antique look.

Tug Hill, NY is where I usually go. My cousin has a place there on the snowmobile and ATV trails.
