If it does make it back up to the 60s this weekend I'll definitely try and get out for a ride. I've only put like 6 miles on the Ducati I recently bought :pout:

I like to make peoples eyes twitch

It just didn’t seem very secure in the middle, only the bottom two magnets worked and the top was just flopping, I’ll play around with it more this evening but :notsure:

It’s also because the bag didn’t feel secure when it was in the middle because only the bottom magnets engaged because of the tank design, I’m gonna play around with it more but so far the offset mount was the most secure.

I wouldn't trust those magnet ones. Maybe on a klr because you're not going very fast though :boink:

I was originally thinking about getting a tank bag that used magnets but I just wasn't sure how they'd hold up so I ended up getting one that clips in using the ring that goes around the fuel cap. Hopefully I can get it mounted this weekend and and go for a ride if it warms up and roads are clear.

I've had zero issues with magnetic tank bags on my FJR1300. That might be partly because it's a 6.6 gallon tank so there's a decent amount of real estate for the magnets to clamp on to. Tank bag design makes a big difference too. You want to pick a design that fits well on your particular tank.

My Buell has a fiberglass tank shell so magnetic is obviously out of the picture. I have a strap mounted tank bag for that and while it works and is plenty secure I'm not as happy with that type of bag. I also had one for a short time that used a mount attached to the ring around the filler neck and held the tank bag up and away from your paint. I tried that for about a year but just couldn't warm up to it as the tank bag itself offered limited movement in position on the tank.

I thought about those too, but I didn't like how they looked just hanging on the tank. Or maybe the Africa Twin ones don't look quite right..

My brother just took a job there, and I have been to Pittsburg before, but didn’t know anything about it. Plus my PA experience is limited to Rolling Rock town fairs 20 years ago. He’s just looking for a good place or area close that’s not too expensive to live. Moving from MO so his cost of living is cheap here and he’s not making more money in the move. He can figure it out, but in his past moves he has had to make snap decisions and usually ends up not in the place he would really want to live. But he may only be there a year or two….

It’s seems interesting, for something that’s only being used to hold a dongle and run cables to I figured I could run the magnetic version.
Definitely don’t go very fast on the KLR, it’ll probably stay.

Was texting a couple friends this morning, and I've concluded all of them are bad influences. Neighbor just put true duals on his Road Glide, and another friend put Arrow on his bike. So after I listen to some examples, exhaust is coming probably today. I am still deciding between titanium and aluminum, but leaning towards titanium because its only $90 more.

    (excuse crappy photos)

So $550 shipped for Titanium or $468 for aluminum. 0.3kg weight savings

I think ill do aluminum now

The Motech bag I got looks very similar to the one you posted, where it follows the contour of the tank. I wasn't sure about the gap between the tank either but it seemed like the best option for easy removal/access to fuel up and during rides. And also to carry the bag with me once at my destination

It’s absolutely crazy riding with an electric bike. I want one badly now.

I can unclip the Tusk one that i have. It has a handle that i can carry.

Maybe check out the Mosko Moto Nomax. It has water capabilities, and built in straps to make it a backpack. But i think its kinda big

It's an Alta, discontinued now. Lot's of new stuff coming that has potential, the nice part of the Alta was it can be registered in NJ which was required to ride where we do.

I have a nomax on my f800, love it. Not sure if I have a good close up of it though.. My biggest complaint is hilariously that it has too many pockets.
