I wonder if all Trim Levels will have rear coils or if maybe the lower levels will still have leaf springs.

From a manufacturing standpoint, highly doubt it. Base model Tundra has coils, they just detuned the engine a bit.

I’m sure the rear coils will be fine. Rams have had them for awhile. It will also probably be pretty similar or exactly the same as what’s on the 4Runner.

The leafs have to go. These are lifestyle trucks, coils should help the ride tremendously. While do think my trucks rides great, occasionally it will get a little buck out if the rear. Coil sprung 4Runners don’t do that.

Since the Tundra is based on the Land Cruiser 300, new Tacoma based on the Tundra. Looking at the 4th Gen Taco as a smaller LC300 with a bed. Which is a good thing.

I meant pans out as in how it compares to the ride of leafs, not if it works or not. It's not like it is gonna hurt payload or anything. Tacoma is already pretty low.

I really hope the next tacoma has the screen integrated into the dash like previous gens. I really hate this modular tablet looking lazy afterthought design trend.

That is the $64 question. Will not be a GM product. Ridge line, Frontier or probably a Jeep Gladiator. Do not need or desire any full size truck.

I wouldn’t discount the Ridgeline. Unless you’re going off road, it’s a great mid sized truck. Also, they left the NA V6 in the new Pilot which means the Ridgeline will probably stick with it as well.

I wonder if we will get a new electric power steering rack like the new tundra. They kept the hydraulic steering on the new Land Cruiser 300 and added an electric steering actuator so it could handle the new driving assist features.Their reasoning for keeping the hydraulic rack is off-road performance, reduced kickback at low speeds and durability. I think one of the high points of the current Tacoma is the hydraulic steering feel. It has a nice heavy direct feel to it, and great feed back both on road and off-road. The Tacoma has always been more off-road focused than the tundra so it would be nice to see them go the land cruiser route. It will probably be electric power steering though.

    Complexity?
Have you ever disassembled a hybrid unit? You'd be surprised. A fully automatic transmission has more shit in it than an entire hybrid system lol.

You should buy something nicer but less reliable than a Tacoma then.

Adding more complexity to the vehicle, not the hybrid system itself. Also where are the batteries going and how heavy. How much storage and payload is lost to add a little power and torque? It seems like a dumb trade off to me.

Gladiator licks 70k equally equipped to a trd pro. And it’s not worth it imo.

Unless you have driven both it is only an opinion. Right out of the box you can mount a winch and add bigger tires if you so choose to on the Glad Rubi . I have watched several stock head to head and the Gladiator was better off road to the Pro . And the front locker is definitely worth it , but it depends on ones life style .

I have driven both. And clearly made my choice.
