so if this is a 2nd gen
    1280px-2011_Toyota_Tacoma_Double_Cab_--_NHTSA.jpg
    and this is 2.5 gen:
    OME_BP-51_Lift_Tacoma_Review_04.jpg
    then this is 3rd gen
    2020-toyota-tacoma-trd-off-road-facelift-n300-00002.jpg
so that means, this is 3.5gen not 4th gen.... right?

Got my truck done at Honeyseal in Oakville. Picked it up last week. Before and after pics below. Not bad for a 300,000 km vehicle. Granted, I don't wheel hard by any means. It's my daily and I've truck camped with it from Key West, Florida to Yellowknife, NWT. I had Toyota put that junk rubberized s**t on it in 2020 and it looked like junk. Now that’s all dry ice blasted, primered, painted and sealed with what’s basically cosmoline.

Wow! I think I know where to bring my 4Runner, your Taco looks pristine after.
That’ll save me hours of bullshit, and I’m down to pay for a bullshit reduction

Totally worth it. I wanted to save the truck from the rubber bullshit Toyota graciously put on and was holding in water and salt. Load lifted off my chest knowing that it’s not slowly rotting away.

I paid 2400. All depends on how bad it is under there. If it’s new, not as much. If it’s bad, maybe more. Watch the Speed Academy video. Call Jake and tell him you saw it on there.

I never would have guessed it's the same truck... that's such a change
and for 2400, not cheap still, but you can see there was effort involved and seems like sooo worth it to avoid the bullshit

Most of that is probably from the dry ice blasting. I remember reading a $500 figure for just spraying the Honeyseal, which is a cosmoline-like coating.

He had it for four days. Ice blasted the engine too and got in under all the plastic, doors and tailgate. Also noticed on visible spots he used a clear type wax that’s sticky to the touch.

For me it was “I love my truck and I ain’t buying a new one any time soon.” Worth it for me in the end. I haven’t changed much on the vehicle except wearable items and a new suspension after the original was just worn to shit.

That is where I stand as well…wanna keep my trucks as long as possible, while buying once and crying once (for a while though).

Damn the results look great. Can’t get over it. Thanks for sharing!

I mention the $500 price because like Cosmoline, the Honeyseal coating will need to be reapplied every two years or so for a street-driven truck. If you go off-road and power wash the underside after every trip like I do, then yearly re-application will be necessary. Think $500 every 1-2 years.

A couple weather beaters showed up on my doorstep today. They are way more hard plasticky than expected. Have either of you found them to get slippery? My quick test fit in the rain suggests this may be an issue.

@3JOH22A the door side corner next to the seat looks way better protected on yours than the taco version. Doing a side by side with the stock mats they will def keep the gas pedal area tidy and the door sill. The way these are contoured its almost the same height as the stockers for water to flow out of. No help from the ribbing to prevent flow either.
