Frame replacement

Dropped the truck off yesterday for the frame to be replaced hopefully it should be done next week but I am not holding my breath on it. We will see. Also finally got my wheels and tires installed I will have to take some better pics when I get it back to post.

 

Do they do a free inspection to see if it needs replacing ? I’m in recall area and want to get it professionally checked before the replacement time runs out. 2015 model year frame looks good to me.


Yea I had the gunk applied as per required a couple yrs ago.

 

TX truck needing a frame replacement? Did the salty ocean air there in CC do the truck in or what?

 

I think the previous owner drove it on the beach quite a bit which is what I suspect led to the holes that I got. The body is in good shape the issue is everything under the truck.

 

Well that sucks because I already replaced my lower control arms and I really don't want them messing with my leaf springs as I have an add a leaf in it already. Fuel and brake lines will be nice though. I guess I will find out when I talk to my service advisor.

 

Yes they will inspect it. I had a jack stand punch a hole in mine just beind the driver tire. I also had a hole on the passenger side almost in the same area.

 

Great so if it’s 12 yr replacement and mine is a 2015 model, I make appointment in 2026 at the dealer to inspect.

 

How are you all still getting the free frame replacement?
Last year, my local dealers told me 05-15 frames are no longer covered. (i have an 05)

They're not bullshitting you for your truck. The frame replacement is for 12 years from first use date.

 

I had an add-a-leaf installed less than a year before the frame replacement; I also have an aftermarket backup camera. The truck was returned to me exactly as it was when I dropped it off, albeit looking brand new underneath.

 

2011-2015 are still covered. My perforation was discovered a week before it would have been out of warranty!

 

05's are out of coverage I have a 13 and the program states 12 years from date of first use or the day it was first sold.

 

I have 2015 so apparently covered until 2027.
Going to take it to dealer in 2026 for inspection

 

My frame was replaced in November 2021, the week before Thanksgiving; I got to visit my truck at the dealer and take pictures of it in various estates of disassembly. The guy in the service department also sent me a few pics with his phone...
