Shove in the back is much different than a hit from behind, please tell me that you can see the difference.....if not I'm even more concerned than originaly mentioned.....

Like I said cheap or cheeky, sure....but dirty, far from it.

Anyways for the time being I would focus less on the past and more on trying to get your team into the playoffs, we've already won another game and moved on since then, I suggest you do the same :p

So I'm traveling to work this morning with ESPN on as background babble and I hear this:

Eight-thousand Casucks fans invaded LaLa Land last night to attend the Kings-Casucks game. They said that in the area around the arena it was hard to find a Kings' jersey.

Amazing. What's that, about 1300 or 1400 miles on a road trip?

As much as I hate to, props to Vancouver for supporting their team.

Acmair: Any reasonable explanation for this Kings' home :)rolleyes:) game?

Then after the LA game , most of them followed the team to Anaheim to watch the Canucks beat the Ducks last night .

There is , in fact , a request by the California teams for the league to schedule these games as a back to back over the weekend because it pretty much garauntees a sell out for both clubs .

    Suck on that .

Geez. No need to get testy.

Must be some emotional fallout from the "double bag head thread" debacle yesterday...;)

    You are very welcome :stirthepot:

I know it was a serious attempt  on your part to address the concerns of fellow TW members.

That's why I felt it was my obligation to share my thoughts. Thanks for the forum.

But a few "believers" did come out of the woodwork with the "family site" angle. And now the thread is gone.

    A pity...:rain:

To be quite honest it is pretty darn cheep to check out games down south. To get tickets up here you're looking at at least $80 a piece and thats for shitty seats, add parking and drinks and whatnot and your looking at a $150 night.

Compare that to a flight down to LA, or Phoenix $99 and a $40 lower bowl ticket and a cheap hotel and its a pretty good excuse to get a few sunny days away and check out a game.

Not to mention for people like myself who don't live in Vancouver itself (couple hours out) you've got to get a hotel in Van to check out a game anyways so you're looking at another $100 on top of that. May as well get a flight and game of golf in :) Also the fact it was a weekend with two games back to back prob helped quite a bit.

There are quite a few people in this boat as there are quite a few Canucks fan in our province which is still 1.5 times bigger than Texas. So you can imagine it's quite the trek for many of those to make it to games anyways, may as well go somewhere sunny!

As for LA, not really there fault I guess, even we manage to get an arena half full of leafs or canadians fans, or any orignal 6 for that matter. Some teams just have such a big following they are willing to pay the big bucks.

hahahaha they do pull a decent crowd, nothing like Montreal or Toronto but bigger than most. Still no more than 1 - 2 thousand but you notice it. Not sure if I've ever seen anybody rocking a Panthers or Thrashers Jersey though

Haha thanks! We should. We have Dallas' number for the most part every season.

Yeah, there's no real explanation, but people here just dont watch hockey much it's a given. CA, especially SoCal, is not a hockey part of the country. Doesn't reflect on the team though. Coyotes are a good team, but can barely fit 1/4 of their stadium sometimes. That's just how it is. As for Canucks coming out to support their team, that's great!

And OZ, I don't think its to sell out the tickets as much as it is to be more effective time wise and travel wise, to have teams that play LA, play the Sucks right after.
