So, we ended up writing an estimate just under the threshold of totaling and I agreed not to supplement any repairs (meaning anything more is on me). So we will have a bit less money to work with but it won’t have a salvage title.

That seems like a pretty good tradeoff, are you guys happy with it?

Yea I think it’s the best way to go. I’ll be doing the work so there’s enough to fix the damage and maybe add some new bling.

How far are you going to go with the rebuild? Paint and everything? Or just body panels? If you're painting, just wanted to make you aware of some joints selling pre-painted parts. Or may I suggest Raptor Liner the entire thing? Just a thought.

I’ll be repainting it. I’ll let shannon decide if she’s wants fiberglass and long travel or turbo or whatever but everything else is probably going to be stock parts painted white. If we were going to continue with the salvage title then I’d say spray paint a mural on it.

Didn't know you had painting skills.... I'll say that Shannon wants a turbo and fiberglass. She told me. For sure.

I’m not a professional but have access to professional tools that make it far easier than you would think.

Painting is not easy. I've tried it. I do not have the patience. That's why I repaint with bedliner.

Another reason why you're a better car-guy than me. I hope that certain online retailer is happy with your work.

No one is a better car-guy than you Dave! You are the most intricate car-guy the world has known, and the beauty is in the details sir!

Their quality standards are quite low. I could probably paint with a brush and they would be fine. Their main goal is to have stuff repaired in 5 minutes or less.

Homeward bound tomorrow, hoping the road before 0600 and the Detroit rush hour.

We were talking tonight and figured out that in the last 3.5 weeks I've been home for five days. Ready to get back.

Here's to hoping for an easy wind at our back drive.
