OP: There are two kind of navigation, integrated gps (build-in) and connected gps (require a phone). Only system with integrated gps has that split screen option.

@Waterloo Wonder they're looking for the built in navi, not through Android auto. I am looking forward to when the screen changes to that on my AA app. Even though I've got the latest version it seems they're not unlocking the split screen for everyone yet.

They should be releasing it for everybody soon, Pixel devices got it first, so it should be out for you in a couple weeks.

I hope so. I'm lost without the skip ahead 30 seconds button and next track button that disappeared the other day. Also the bar at the bottom with what you are currently listening to. Is gone. Used the skip ahead one to skip commercials during podcasts. I like the way the layout is on yours now. Hopefully my wife's and mine look that way.

I did notice while listening to Spotify, the bar at the bottom shows the song title and artist for a few seconds when the song changes while in Google Maps.

use the buttons on your steering wheel...

the most annoying thing about the new AA is the clock location in the far bottom right. it's bad enough this truck doesn't have it's own clock on the instrument cluster, now i have to retrain myself AGAIN on where to see what time it is...

You clearly did not read the previous posts about the 10 seconds back and 30 seconds forward buttons. The steering wheel buttons don't work for that, just next song and previous. I wish they would give us some settings that can be changed for the different options in Android Auto. Give us a choice of what view we want in our vehicle, what buttons we want to see.

When listening to podcasts on spotify, the buttons on my steering wheel perform the skip 10 seconds or skip back 30 seconds functions...

@TheSpartan In my truck I don't really miss them as the steering wheel controls handle it but I spend far more time in my shitbox commuter which has an Android head unit and no steering wheel controls. However I got an answer in the Google user group that worked. If anyone else is missing them I'll post the pic here.

The clock is going to take some time to get used to. I do like that it feels faster, I'm not sure if it is, but it doesn't feel as sluggish as it used to. The other problem is that it has that box in the upper right that has time to recent searches or locations like "home" or "work" disappears after about 10 minutes. It would be nice to have the option to keep that displayed.

I also remember a thread a while back about certain configurations of the TRD OR having limited or no maps in the entune head unit even though the radio has the maps button.

My 2022 SR5 is "post entune" radio and it has the map button which only works when running Android auto. Also has the apps button but you can only add the Toyota-Alexa app. Sofa king dumb.

Is there a way to get FS MVUMs into GAIA to run on the head unit? I do it in Avenza, but Avenza doesn't have a carplay option. I can't figure the dang app out.

Can I get that in English? I run GAIA on the screen in Android Auto. I don't know what an FS MVUM or an Avenza is.

You have the integrated gps unit therefore you have that split screen option. Usually you can tell if you have it or not by the word JBL at the center bottom. I didn’t upgrade mine like most people therefore we do not have that option. Some vehicle comes with the upgraded option. There is no update or mod, only way is upgrade the unit.

LOL, Avenza is another mapping app. Similar to GAIA, but also very different. FS MVUM is the Forest Service Motor Vehicle Use Map which shows where and what types of vehicles are allowed on trails and roads in a National Forest.

I have a 2018, so no Android Auto or Carplay for me. Sorry I can't help beyond explaining acronyms and names.
