^No idea why the 4Runner version is uniquely designed with a ridge. For comparison, the Weathertech floor liner for Tacos doesn't have a ridge there, either:

It seems the designers wanted water to be dumped overboard once the door is opened. Maybe the Husky designer in 2010 had different priorities vs in 2016.

Design Engineer: "We should add this dam feature so water doesnt spill out"
Bossman: " Nah, Tacoma's are so popular no one cares. Ship it!"

Looking at the differences with the X-Act over the beaters, they are a softer rubber and the ridge pattern looks like it may do marginally better. From images the sides look the same. The rest of the edge protection will still be an improvement so gonna to the Prime exchange and save $30 too :) Miserable, miserable compromises, lol.

It's basically an aluminum plate cut to shape, powder coated, and bolted to the seat mounts with spacers and longer bolts. With today's higher shipping and import charges, it comes to about $150 CAD. So you'll want to weigh that vs. making your own.

not washing off is one of the benefits of Cosmoline over Krown/Fluid Film type coatings. are you finding your Cosmoline coating is wearing a year after application?

i havent noticed mine is wearing but i spent more time in the desert than the mud this past year and i dont wash my truck alot.

^I power wash my truck at a self-serve stall on the drive back from each trail ride. Actually did this 4 times in the Michigan trip last summer. I also run it though a touchless car wash with underbody spray every 2-3 weeks in the winter (when temps go above zero).

ah alright, because i have the material to fab up the bracket that bolts to the seats. i just wanted to know what was the best way around to bolting it to the seat itself. Implying some rubber spacers and new bolts or something to keep things tidy.

Very easy to make your own. I just riveted the mount that came with my fire extinguisher to a mount that I made to bolt to the seats.

Toyota really needs to step up the game with the next one, I was very excited to see the new Colorado in and out. I then proceed to open current 2023 TRD pro door, looked at the interior and was like :puke:

Well, I hope we get 400ftlb and 310hp at least too in the tacoma, it needs more torque to spin those 37s…

I'm brainwashed into the Toyota cult.* Nothing will change my mind. There's no replacement for displacement. I am a fringe minority with unacceptable views.

*I bought my wife a Kia cause it was cheap and it has a lot of options and Highlander was too expensive.
