Most people are not old enough or gained enough wisdom to understand until they reach a level of life experience and their narrow young minds can absorb more than approval from others and painfully realize they are not the center of the universe for all to adore and revere and envy. When they realize they still are not fulfilled by life, they then seek that which is larger then themselves. The fortunate find that. Took me 40 years.....No one lied to me. They just were not aware I would not understand......especially after realizing there was no Santa clause.

There is a huge difference between religion and faith. Religion is man's interpretation he uses to convince and control other men yes starting very young. FAITH is something found by an INDIVIDUAL all by themselves.

Where in the bible does it say this 'rapture' will happen on the date you say its going to happen?

    Im pretty sure it doesn't.

    It does say this however...

'But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, buy my Father only. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.' Mathew 24:36-37

The end has been predicted many times and we are still here. There are signs of the times that clearly haven't happened.

Raised Catholic, went through years of Catholic schooling. I just found that too many people were hypocritical, took things too far, couldn't think for themselves, etc. I would say Im spiritual or whatever. As far as marriage is concerned I will have the ceremony performed by a non-demoninational pastor or something like that. Why? Ive had premarital relations and parts of the Catholic marriage ceremony are based on the assumption of not having physical relations and I do not want to start marriage with a lie.(If i get married, or find a girl to get married too)

    Voted Atheist btw

That religious organization obviously didn't read the scripture I quoted from Matthew or maybe they removed it altogether. The bible has been translated (wrong) so many times its hard to take some of it seriously.

I believe the reference to Noah was pointing to the fact that the majority of the people were wicked. The other references in my opinion are way off base. I guarantee we will be here after the date specified.

I can also guarantee that the religion that posted that will say it happened and no one knew because we are all wicked and that we are all living in hell on earth.

Im with you, waiting for them to be proven wrong.

Oh hmmmmm, let's see. I was raised Catholic. Went through the Confirmation and found it was just as empty as it had always been. Much to the disappointment of my family, I decided to no longer attend the mass. Kind of gave up on the whole religion thing.

Later in my early 20's I did start on a spiritual journey of sorts. I've studied extensively in eastern philosophies, the old religions before the Judeo-Christian era (paganism, etc). I studied the religions of my ancestors (Celts and Vikings), went back through some of the eastern paths, even studied Hinduism for a bit. Now after all these years of wandering, I am still at a loss for any real truths. Seen a lot, done a lot, heard a lot.
I'm still the skeptic agnostic I've always been.
    I'm okay with that.

I am a Christian--an active one at that. I believe that Truth is absolute (and can be found in the Bible)--society does not determine what truth is. I believe that humankind is inherently bad and selfish. The only good in this world comes from God. I believe in Creation (Evolution is a theory that will never be proven) and that the earth is young. (around 6,000-15,000 years old.)

I was raised Christian, but going to college is having a strange effect on me. It's kind of making me even crazier. Most of my professors are commies and someone has to stand up agaist them...
