I have an '06. I have done a lot of little/medium mods, for technology and creature comforts. The next thing I'm looking at is the USB ports under the dash. Currently, I have a USB port drilled into the right side of the center console (similar to image 2), but when the seat is moved up it breaks the cable.

How would I get that on my 06? Is there a part number for that part of the dash? I'll have to replace part of the center console too because it's got a hole in it from current USB solution.

I think 09 is when they added that style. In 2012 they switched the style again. If I remember correctly, either should work. Best bed would be to source one locally from a parted truck or check out car-part.com and have one shipped to you.

Not sure why this posted a picture and attached it twice as a file..

If you keep an eye out for them you can find them cheaper. I found one a few weeks ago for $54. You could also just replace one of the cig lighters with a usb port.

There are also slanted/recessed outlet boxes (for wall mounting TVs)…

still pretty ‘homemade’, but, depending on how much room you have behind it, you might be able to keep your current hole in the panel, but get the plug tucked in away from the seat.

I think this might be the part number:
    55407-04040-E0
At least I hope it is. Somebody else may be able to confirm this.

Several years ago there was a thread on replacing the earlier lower console part with the newer style and all of the part numbers and pictures were in that thread. You may be able to find it with some searching. As I recall, the part fits with no problems other than you have to take apart all of the lower dash and do the wiring.

I was thinking you had to use the style you posted and not the later style with the two cigarette plugs on the right in the later model, but I could be remembering that wrong.

ETA- Just doing a quick search I found this thread that shows pulling on of the lower console pieces, not the replacement. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...enter-console-clean-look-lots-of-pics.306779/
