What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Does it leave anything behind? If not, I’m doing it.

 

yeah don't use Acetone. can occasionally eat though some plastic.

 

no it shouldn't. buff with some nail polish remover non acetone. the acetone is pretty aggressive I've use it to remove spray paint and adhesives.

 

I changed the headlights and before someone says the OEMs are brighter, it came with aftermarket when I bought it.

 

How do you like them?

 

They really update the look. Functionally, they are LED and brighter than the old halogen ones. Definitely an upgrade from what was on there before.

I put these TRD center cap stickers on Tuesday and they have already came off. I know the caps have a slight dome to them, any ideas on how to make them stick permanently?

 

Try Coleman fuel to remove the logo and other sticky stuff. I put that s**t on everything and it never attacks the surface.

 

Found out why my exhaust sounded weird.....

Wow, looks great. Impressive. How much was this process?

But with that being said, I went with the full package and the truck had the Toyota dealership rubberized bulls*** they put on for the frame recall and was eating away at the frame. They sprayed inside the doors, rocker panels, tailgate, took off all plastics, cosmoline and paint under the truck and then a clear white wax in other places where its visible (i.e. around the gas cap and gas door).

 

Wow, and yes here’s to another 200k!

 

Finally installed my bumper. Shout out to C4 Fabrications for having an easy to follow install video and making a great product. I still need to give it a minor adjustment, and my bed liner paint job didn’t adhere as well as I would have liked. But, no powder coat places within a thousand miles, so.. yeah.

Only issues were a Dewalt drill bit that was seemingly made of cheese and I think my first sway bar bolt that I reinstalled is cross threaded. But, that’s a problem for future-me.



Still need to wire the light bar, but the fogs work as they should. I want to tap into the high beams for the light bar, so if anyone has a suggestion there…
